I remeber when my friend was driving his parents' car an on the highway the flat drive belt broke... the whole engine didn't run smoothly afterwards because the belt wasn't installed properly, and because of that it finally broke (and the camshaft wasn't where it was supposed to be after it broke, too).
That was far more expensive then just 80 Pounds. And worst of all, we couldn't get home! We were around 500km away from home. And it was my birthday, too. That was far worse than the money. >_>

My friend and his father got the car back in a working state, though. And then they sold it. ^^

Yeah, we (my gf, my friend and me) had to stay a day in that town (Erfurt). The next day a other friend drove all the way down to Erfurt to get the car on a truck trailer and to get it back to Hamburg.
And me and my gf had to take the train... we had to pay 100EU for the tickets and it took us 6 hours to get back home. -_-
