The last major overhaul to the system was the addition of Audio Reviews, because that was a new stat that was created. We have a lower threshold for Reviews, because most people write so few of them that it's impractical to congratulate every 1,000 Reviews.

People will continue to get Blams, just at a slower rate than they used to. That's life, get over it.

Some people have carved out reputations for Posting on the BBS (HotActionYiffFur, for example) without gaining experience. I've chosen to go for the stat whore option, while others have chosen to go for something else entirely, like you.

Yuo mean ppl weren't always able to review audio? But they could review flashes since 2002 or sumthin'!
