Indeed, all good things must come to an end. I don't think I'll ever fully retire from this thread, partly because at present it's one of the few threads I actually bother to post in regularly, but also because I like the kind of people in here (for the most part).

If Coop left this thread, it would be a sad, sad day.

I'm trying to find a job and luckily, I found a part-time job at my local SPAR shop. It's only 20 hours a week, but it's a good start. :) Hopefully I get the job.

Cool, I need to find a job at the moment, but I've been putting it off until I finished all my army officer's application stuff, which I've now completed for the next 9 months or so. I really don't have much of an excuse now.

So that is why I never anyone getting cograts for under level 10. finding this out sort of make me want to stop down playing my own milestones. Sigh I remember when they meant a whole lot more to me then they do now. Though I do remember when everyone did give congrats for that but it feels like it was so long ago even though it hasn't even been 6 months yet.

You shouldn't downplay your achievements so much, cos all the ones you've posted lately are good solid achievements. Much more so than some of the stuff that gets posted here... for example '1,300 saves' (you know who you are).

I think it's been necessary to tighten up the achievement requisites in here, though, as we had a phase a month or so ago (maybe a bit longer) when some spammers thought it would be hilarious to post a load of non-achievements, such as '412 posts' and '19 reviews', and then other newer users started thinking that almost anything could be counted as an achievement, and it escalated.

It's a shame that we have to tell users that what they though was an achievement actually wasn't one by our standards, but in light of the past spam-attacks, it's become necessary to keep the thread from falling apart. Bahamut was seriously contemplating leaving at the time of those 'spam-attacks', and he still is now to an extent, and without the list makers, this thread becomes pretty much pointless. We don't have any mods in here to keep the order, save the sporadic appearances of absent, so we need higher level users like Coop83 and Bahamut to keep the lower level, potential spammers in check.

I have noticed a lot more +1 posting in the Wi/Ht lately though. Most prominently in Rage's Abusive Reviews thread. It annoys me most when I see people +1 posting in the LUL though, largely because of the amount of effort the list makers (including myself) put into keeping this place worthwhile. It's never nice to see people pissing on your efforts.

I'm confident it will. Why would the team reform the XP/Level system and get rid of the sliding requirements only to introduce them again? I've been collecting them for several years now Officer, but was recently introduced to a cool site that has tons of them. Use the search words "funny gifs" and you're bound to laugh more than once. Just remember Newgrounds has a file size limit of 150k.

I would primarily define +1 posting as the former option, namely, users whose posts are devoid of any useful or new information, and are blatently just posting in order to add to their post count. Whilst we are getting a fair few of these types of users in this forum lately, we do also get the other type of +1 poster, who, like you said, may be posting in good faith, but who nevertheless post useless information. Either way, whether in good faith or not, when repeated many times over, both become an irritation.
