I have to agree, if you remember, when I used to post, I opposed the idea of new levels. But they way they did them, and locked them in place, I gotta say I like it too. And then there's the rest of the redesign which is als extremely nice.

Well if we're listing icons we're not fond of how about levels 2, 40 and 49? I've always hated the lollipop and that hasn't changed. Level 40 is kinda screwed. Do you really think a flimsy leg bone is going to fare better than a solid oak handle? No bloody way (glad I just missed it). As for level 49 I think draw on that bow is around 20 lbs. Good for target practice but not much else (unless it happens to be magical).

I agree... and the level 60 is totally a rip-off of the Furnation logo. :) But seriously, yeah, I wish they would've stayed with more of a fantasy theme for the level icons. Randomly thrown-in zodiac signs (level 49) and modern tools (especially levels 11, 14, 22, but also 39 and 54) just look a bit out of place. And the gloves just don't look that great, either. Ah well, at least the levels I will reach in the foreseeable future all look pretty cool. :)

It might be the case that when Pimp reaches level 60, he'll start pushing all of the level requirements up again. Tom wanted to give us a golden age before that happens. Either that, or they've given everyone on NG some goals to aim for.

My favorite is 46 too but I think it looks good in the light aura. I now have to bear the stupid 27 and 38 aka redesigned old level 21 and 22 axes. but 39-47 is cool fresh.

Scaling? I'm not quite sure what you mean... I was under the impression that the sliding level requirements are a thing of the past now, and in fact, the required amounts of XP do not seem to have changed since the introduction of the new design. :P

The FAQ still talks about them, of course, but then, it also still talks about levels 1 to 9 being 50 XP apart each.

Personally, I think "???" means either "infinite" (in the sense of "unlimited") or "we may introduce new levels in the future if too many people actually reach level 60, but we're not gonna worry about that just yet".

In any case, if there's gonna be a second redesign some day, I hope it's not going to be before 2013-12-11, since that's when I should get the level 53 skull crusher (assuming I won't miss any deposits until then). :)
