I have never had any problems with the advertisment here... except for those sound ones that were common here for a little bit not too long ago.

I hate popups with a passion. The reason I have a popup blocker is because I don't want to deal with them. They're annoying and I close them so fast I don't even look at them. I've stopped going to one of my favorite places to get lyrics because I have to close three popups with every link I click.

It's really starting to bug me on Newgrounds now, but it isn't like I'll stop coming here because I tend to get bored real quickly...

If there are hundreds of popup blockers and there are people who download Firefox for the built-in popup. I think Internet Explorer has a built-in popup blocker now. If it's obvious that people are tired of popup ads, why keep using them?

I don't click on any ads now, but if you remove the popups... I swear I'll click on them whenever I'm on the site. I rather have them come up as tabs instead of seperate windows...

dont forget that alot of NGers use ad blockers, therefore we dont see the ads a lot of the time, so its pretty much down to what you can get the most money for. it wouldnt matter if you had a 600X700 ad at the top to me, because my adblocker would block it like i think a lot of others have.

It's true though, if you had read the actual post you would notice that Tom called himself a whore, theres nothing wrong with joking about it and I'm sure Tom isn't offended by it, Toms a cool guy and would probably have expected a bunch of jokes about it.

Also, you aren't supposed to tell someone they are going to be banned, you aren't a moderator so you can't decide what happens around here.

I have to be honest, this really annoys me, I was used to having my Flash windows ideal without the advertising space but not the text link simply breaks the page because of how it's programmed.

I want removable adverts back... ;_;

The "Win a PSP" ads were a discrace because they were an example of truly shit graphics on an animation centered site.

Yeah, you didn't ear much by it anyway.

Aslong as there was annoying ads with flashing lights and even irritating sounds, people would download FireFox, Maxthon and other web browsers with pop-up blockers and adblockers.

The new members and visitors will not search for such web browsers now when they don't notice anything differential.

What exactly is a text advertisement? Just the name of the brand or whatever? I can't see how that could be obtrusive at all, sounds good Tom.

It's a hyperlink. A little line which is supposed to bring curiosity so someone clicks on it.

I've noticed the college humour ads only link to the NG frontpage. That probably needs fixing. I'm using firefox btw. Oh and I hate popups, I know its not going to happen because I want it to but I'd love it if NG got rid of them. They've somehow found a way past the FF popup blocker, the cheeky bastards. >:O

but d00d, i didn't knew you wrote this, so i was like 'OH NO, EVEN NG GETS POP-UP SH!T, F*CKING HELL!' and i though 'maybe tom wrote sumthing about it in the frontpage, as usually in all new things, like clock-day etc. but when i saw this ad the first time, i didn't even wait for it to load, i just clicked 'click here to skip this ad' IMMEDIATELY, so i didn't even knew what it said.

i think everyone is like that, and while you wrote 'i know you guys hate the "CLICK HERE TO GET A FREE PSP" as much as i do', this is as annoying as the PSP ads, ALL ads are, if i want something to get, i search for it, not only on a searchsite like google, but actually everywhere, i ask friends, etc, so i WILL get some sites along my search, np...so these ads aren't neccesary, was what i wanted to say ;)

you can hold them if you want, but i ensure you i only watch them 40% of the time, and i think most of the NG users agree (i didn't read the reactions on your post)
