I've had a great idea. Everybody loves their MusicMatch/WMP/WinAMP library to be nice and neat, with albums filed nicely into folders and tagged like all their others, so what happens when you come across some great stuff in the Audio Portal? You download it maybe, but then it ends up never going in your library because it just doesn't fit there. So link some of the best music you've heard in this thread, and we'll make little volumes with 15-20 tracks or so in each, and that way we'll have nice little neat folders of the best stuff there. Try to only contribute a two or three to each volume.

Great start guys, keep them coming
And if somebody can think up a better title than "The Best Of The Audio Portal", feel free to suggest it, anything has to be more inventive than that.
Mebbies even a subtitle as we go along

Yeah 'Best of The Audio Portal' is a little demeaning to the unused NG track-makers. How About:
'Audio Portal Classics, Volume 1'

That sounds much much nicer.
And that way, maybe in future after a few volumes of this we can do volumes for seasons, like the best of what was released during the winter months or something, or Audio Portal Pixelated or something :P including only video game tracks.
I forsee great things for this thread

Meh, not my place to judge musical tastes, just so long as it doesn't have a low score whatever gets suggested goes in.
That's 5 tracks, and since we've had two rock tracks in succession try not to put more in for a while. If another such incident of more than two of the same genre occurs and I don't notice it, somebody else pick up on it and give everybody the heads up that we might be leaning.
I'll contribute another one later, but I'm using up baud at the minute

I was going to say Ion Storm by Sonic Eclipse, but he's gone...
I'd have to say Those soulful Chinese by LJCoffee, or anything by monkeybullman

Please suggest one track, and link to it.
And don't suggest another ljcoffee song for a while, if at all, since he's already in.

Hey buddy I'm back as Extracy and I'm restocking! Ion Storm will be here shortly if I get a really nuisant problem out of the way.
As for the best of the portal, I really like that Alternate Route song by ParagonX9, but since that was previously mentioned, I have no current ideas... maybe "B0UNC3 - Paradise on E" or "DJ Runaway (Hypocritism) - Method R "will fit your tastes?

BOUNC3 is already in as well, I'll put the DJ Runaway song in.
That brings us up to 13 tracks, we're doing well, may even have to make the first volume multi-disc if it keeps going at this rate

I've just had a great idea.
I think there should be albums for different genres.
'Audio Portal Classics, Volume One : Heavy Metal'
'Audio Portal Classics, Volume One : Trance'
'Audio Portal Classics, Volume One : Video Game'
'Audio Portal Classics, Volume One : Miscellaneous'
And basically the same thing for every genre on NewGrounds.
This way everyone can have a reference to the music that they like, instead of strict limitations of 1 - 3 tracks of the same genre on a cd.

I would be delighted if one of my songs were to be placed under the trance section. I also recommend AdmiralConquistador, B0UNC3, Dreamscaper and Hypocritism. For the Video game section, the obvious reign is taken by Chronamut, but ParagonX9 has a few good tunes to go on there, like Alternate Route. For miscellaneous, I recommend monkeybullman, Rucklo and ljcoffee.
