Smash Brothers Intro Collab

A game this good has to have a collab.

ok here is what i see:

you know the intro movie to SSBM? it will be that, 14 main characters with short clips of the secret characters in between. this doesn't mean that there will be 15 (i'm counting sheik seperately) + parts though. because one person might want to use two (or max three) characters in one scene (link and zelda could be in a scene for one person) ill have more info about parts soon. it's a first come first serve deal but you can't call 3 characters. you can have your first pick but if you have another as a second character but someone else chooses your second as their first they get it. (unless it's ok'd by me example someone has a great idea with zelda and peach)

i want to keep it in somewhat order that you see the characters though, for music fitting with character purposes (kirby's part when kirbys music comes on)

i haven't completely figured out how i'm going to split up the parts but i think that will happen along the way. (i don't even know if this collab idea is going to fly)

on an ending note for now i want to say that i have much love for this game and i KNOW there are tons of other people out there who do too. if you want to help with making the collab you can post because help is good

oh and i'd like to ask you to post a picture of your character design (i don't care what style you use as long as you get the character. i'd also like you to show me something you've made. i hate to say it but unlike some collabs i'm going for quality but i'll be nice. but if someone shows me a stick figure with mario's hat vs. someone with a detailed mario who also has a decent name on newgrounds i'm going to choose the stick pff... no

I'm kinda wondering what the characters should do exactly whilst they are alone on screen... cause upon first glance, it looks like you don't want them fighting together onscreen, just wondering...

But anyways, I'm interested in helping, don't know if you would want my help, but its worth the shot. I've been practicing and teaching myself Flash MX all summer, been on NG for over a year, just got my GG account recently... I love SSBM, and I'm prob able to do Kirby and/or maybe Captain Falcon. to answer the question about having people fight on screen that's fine. you can have more than one character on the screen. plus in the mp3 i'm posting later today there are some sounds of fighting (check movie out on your gamecube you'll know what i mean) so there has to be some fights :)

ok so here is how it will work, there will be 11 parts. part 5 will be taken by people who want to do REALLY short clips. (ill fill you in later once the music is uploaded)

each part you can use whatever characters you like but some parts will have exclusive characters which i will also give out once music is uploaded. example: the first part has to be Mario and Link (hopefully will look stand offish (they are nintendo's main men :) that's what i'm hoping for at least)

ok here is the deal. if you want to join please show an animation that you have made. a picture will help you further but an animation is needed as a start.

i like this idea, im not intrested in joining it, but i do ike the idea. i hope you are good enough to host this, and that you get good enough people however though because this could be decent.

a tip, would be to not recruit newby artist, dont even give them a chance. it sounds harsh but it will stop this just being another average collab. also, dont have so many characters as this could get very repetetive very quick

wow thank you for giving me a breather from the noobs. (no offense posters before this)

oh and mogly i have a lot of hope for this collab and i feel that i can handle hosting it. i'm really hoping for good enough people who want to join. i really want this to look good. and once i get the audio up more people will be interested.

i wish i could edit that last post.... whatever. i meant to say i hope more people will be interested when i post the audio... and other edits but whatever.

heres what i'm thinking for beginning and end. starts with the GameCube symbol like they do when you turn on the GCN, so it starts the same way the game would. then after the movie it will have the start screen which goes to credits instead of "start" button.

just another idea but we'll worry about that later. so far i'm a little upset at how unorganised and messy this thread is at the moment. a little less noob a little more help

Ok, just wanted to post my 3D rendering of Kirby, I don't know how this can be worked in, like I could trace the bitmaps of all the poses into Flash, or I could make some other characters and help with the preloader, idk yet. But the grounds aren't quite settled yet as I understand it, and I'll have to see where its all headed. Once we get assignments I can start working on the 2D rendition scene in Flash.

I just rewatched the SSBM Intro, this is going to be interesting, but only if we make it different than the real one. I hope all this turns out well, this is looking pretty good so far.

BTW, looks like I might be getting a short scene if anything, cause I'm slightly n00bish and I don't want to ruin the Flash entirely...
