Its complete BS about Iraq having nuclear/biological weapons. That is not the reason Bush is on the warpath - its because Iraq has...OIL! Thats the entire reason!

Does anyone know if this fact is true? The worlds oil supply with be gone within 50 years at the current rate of consumption? I found that interesting, I can't remember where I heard it from.

That statement is rubbish. The world's oil supply may be limited, but certainly not to that degree. There are several places in the world that still have vast oil reserves.

And a note on Iraq: As mentioned above, there are still places in the world that have oil. Iraq is one of them, but is not the only one. Someone on another message board (I believe) asked why we don't attack these other oil countries instead of Iraq. The answer, of course, is that none of those other countries are ruled by a fanatical madman.

The notion that this war is strictly about oil is absurd.

If we are really determined to take out Sadam because he is developing weapons of mass destruction, then why aren't we doing the same to dozens of other countries that partake in the same endeavors?

It's a rhetorical question really, but honestly the answer can only display that chemical and biological weapons are just a scare tactic against the American people to gain support for the "war on terrorism"
What about Russia using chemical agents on their own people just recently (Chechnyan rebels at the theater w/ hostages), or North Korea developing nuclear weapons after we gave them several BILLION to give up the program? Don't forget the US and Britain has their own chemical and biological programs as well.

It boils down to this: a country with weapons of mass destruction cannot be pushed around as much by US embargos. What nuclear power do we put embargos on when they don't play ball with the US? Also, other anti-US countries that have nuclear weapons have not used them yet, even the fundamentalist arab nation of pakistan that is full of typical mid-east anti-US sentiment doesn't threaten us with their nukes. Historically, the only country to use nukes is the US, and furthermore have used more tonnage of chemical agents in WWI and vietnam than the rest of the world combined.

I couldnt agree more, USA only defends their own interests we that are lucky enough to live in Europe are "happy" to have the same interests as them.
Another thing I dont support terrorism at all but I think people have forgotten to look for the reason that terror actions are made, its because they have been pressed to the outer edge, they are out of options, if we in the Western-world had listened to their complaints or seen their suffering before this might not have happened.

Yeah iraq has oil but they have fucked up policies too

I dredged this old post up for the depths of the boards and had a read. Alot has happened in the year or so since I wrote this:

1. The US did attack Iraq

2. They captured Saddam Hussein

3. They found no Nuclear weapons

Saddam might have been an evil SOB but the US just has to learn not to interfere with so many other people's business...

I 'spose they control the oil now too....great.

You can probably expect to see the US start bashing some other 3rd World country soon - so dont forget to tune into the news!

Its funny cuase they get their facts from people who are paid to say what they say. Most of my sources are doing it, becuase they want the truth to be told. i guess its just who you can trust.
