lolz, i wouldnt do it, in fear of damaging the gun.
KILL ALL SONS A BITCHES.
yes a gun will fire under water because the cartridge has air in it so they can fire in space as well
I belive AK-47's can shoot underwater. But the bullents wont do damage as the water will slow the bullet down. Their bullets have sealed pin's that water cant get through. But thats my guess.

Exactly.

Did none of you see that episode on Mythbusters? The cartridges are sealed well enough that the gunpower shouldn't get wet from a quick dunk in the ocean. Maybe if you went deep-sea diving or something, but normally the bullet would be fine.
A civil-war era musket, THAT wouldn't work under water.

Yep, you can fire a gun underwater. The spent cartridges don't eject properly because of the water pressure, but you can shoot a bullet. Lower-powered handguns fire farther than high-powered rifles, believe it or not.
Anything with gunpowder won't fire.
Anything else will fire, but incredibly slow.
guns can fire underwater but it's not good for the gun. Plus the bullet disintigrates right after you shoot

Depends on the density of the water.
Bullets can't shoot underwater, so probably no.
It does work but it can fire topedoes only

No they prove on mythbusters that mostly all bullets on impact with water brake up in little piece

Pieces***
And a good example of a gun that will work under water is the Russians SPP-1

There is no reason to fire a gun underwater because you will not kill anything outside of a few feet, so there is no reason to worry about it.
Next question: Will a gun fire in space?
:I know the answer...

Are those the bullets next to it?
God, they look like needles!

I believe so, It's so it can cut through the water and actually travel distance instead of like 3 ft max with a normal bullet.

No, not if the gunpowder is wet. I also heard if its submerged in water long enough and you come to the surface and shoot it, it will backfire. o.o;

I think it's streamlined.

It dosn't matter, it takes many times more energy to propel an object through water than through the air.
Modern jet aircraft are able to travel at Mach 2. Have you ever wondered why there is no underwater craft that could come close?
a gun will fire underwater. But if there is any air in the chamber you have a risk of it blowing up in your hand.... it wont go very far though .. its only lethal up to 3 feet depending on the gun
yes, it will fire
tested on mythbusters
but if you fire a shotgun (with the wood parts), itll be destroyed after the 1st shot
Newgrounds: the former 4chan
They did an episode on Mythbusters about this I think. It's possible, but the bullet won't travel as far, obviously.
Im sure at least 100 people have already said this, but the mythbusters tested this and found that a pistol can but a shotgun blows up.... pistol didnt go far though

I went through 2 and a half pages thinkin you gotta be shitting me
But I wasn't the only one who saw it
Shotguns do not work underwater

Ahem, hydrodynamic.
do you mean a desert eagel, shotgun, or what, because it depends on that.
