Yeah Snape's story shocked me a little I didn't expect it after he used Avada Kedevra on Dumbledore in book 6. Yeah 7 has to be by far the best of the series followed by half blood prince and OOP. I read all the books but I only own 6 and 7. I'm hoping to get the full set but that would take quite a bit of money so I'm gonna settle with onyl having 4,5,6 and 7.
Yeah, like you, I really was shocked by Snape's side of the story. It kind of made me feel bad for hating him throughout the entire series, knowing now that he did all of that because he loved Lily Potter. After reading that, he's gone from #1 on my most hated person from Harry Potter to #3 of most awesome, with Lupin being second, and Sirius being the most awesome Harry Potter character.

Anyway, who here has already seen the movie? I liked it, but it needed more of Nymphadora(I refuse to call someone as hot as Tonks is in the movie "Tonks") and Luna. Especially Luna. She was pretty much the main reason I went to see the movie.

I saw the movie, I was kinda disappointed that they didn't show Ron as Keeper or mention anything about "Weasley is our King". Luna kinda creeped me out though, I could just imagine her as a hobo or something.

I'd like to join this club. I got sorted into Ravenclaw from that test.
Does anyone else think that Hufflepuff are everybody else's whipping boys? Gryffindor are obviously bummed to death throughout the book, Slytherin are the main villains, and even Ravenclaw got quite a bit dedicated to them in the last book.
Hell, even the Hufflepuff horcrux got fuck all description dedicated to it in the book.

I agree. It was the chapter I had been looking forward to, and every time I want to reread parts of the book, I always seem to wander off into the Prince's Tale.

It doesn't matter that almost all information we discover in that chapter had been predicted by the fan community almost two years ago; it was awesome to see it written by Rowling herself. I even guessed that Harry would find out about Snape's true personality through the Pensieve, as I doubted Snape would go all emo on Harry, weep and spill his guts about his love for Lily.

Awesome book anyway, but there are still some unanswered questions. For instance, what do you think was the "source we discussed" when Snape tells Voldemort the time of Harry's departure?

I think it would've been Mundungus.
He's a bit of a tard, and it could have happened when Snape put the seven Harry's idea into his memory.

I heard that many people are ruining the harry potter story by saying someone got killed by someone. What would happen if someone said what happened at the ending? Would they get sued or something? :/

No, they can't. Especially since Amazon made a mistake and ended up shipping the books out 4 days before it even came out. And when you say 'are' ruining, do you mean currently? Or are you referring to before the book came out?

It was not bad at all.

The middle of the book was verrrrrry slow.

The first 5 and the last 5 chapters on the other hand were amazing.

There were a lot of "OMG" moments while reading the book

Towards the end there is a huge battle between everyone at Hogwarts and the Death Eaters. It gave me goosebumps to see all of the good wizards and witches gathering together to fight evil.

It was a real tear jerker when it is revealed that Snape was a good guy. He was sooo in love with Lily. They grew up together and were actually friends for most of their time at Hogwarts. Lily didn't like the slightly evil direction that Snape was going and Snape didn't like James at all. So they sort of parted ways. Snape found out that Lily and James were a target and begged Voldemort to not kill them, but Voldy wasn't hearing it. So Snape went to Dumbledore and said that there was nothing he could really do, but if he really loves Lily he will spend his life protecting the boy. So, Snape agreed to do that. Then Dumbledore told Snape that Harry has Lilys eyes and that he could see Lily in Harry's eyes.

So, when Snape was laying there at the end of the book, seconds from dying, he says to Harry "Look at me" because I think he wanted to have one last glimpse at Lily before he died. It was very heartbreaking, imo.

I wish that we were given more time to embrace Snape as a good guy. I almost wish that Harry had a chance to thank Snape.

But, at the end of the book, one of Harry's children's name is Albus Severus. His other children are James and Lily.

Predictable but awesome, nonetheless.

i actually found a pic of hermione making the pollyjuicepotion and you can see up her skirt. you can search for it but also emma watson had an upskirt on the david letterman show. now on to buisness away from the pervs that i said that for, i saw the last book in a giant crate and some other product price said 58 dollars and i think that killed most of the sales for the book which was actually 18.

I'm probably not going to join, but I have just finished the 5th book. It was very long, but I have been slacking on reading it for about 2 years. It's definitely worth finishing, and now I can see the movie. :P

Book #6, here I come. :O

what do you guys think of the 5th movie: Order of the Phenoix. I though it was a disapointing, tired, and sleepy film.

I thought it was good.
I though Goblet didn't feel like a film. I thought it felt like a bunch of scenes plastered together to form a vague outline of the book.
Order on the other hand I thought was a big improvement on this. And the score was well cooler than any of the previous films.

Hmmm I like the series, I read the first four books when they were just published and I was younger, but once the 5th was out and I noticed how horrible and boring it is, how Rowling had taken all of Harry's good traits and ruined them, I stopped reading and made a promise not read them again, I know the ending of the 7th and I'll only watch the movies from now on, the fifth book was rubbish, the movie, bad at the start, get's better near the end.

I might pop in once in a while but not too much, so I guess I'd like to join. What do you say? Also, I got chosen to Ravenclaw on the sorting hat site, I suppose they are good. I always considered myself as part dark part...not so dark so none of the major houses would suit me.

Just persevere through the first six books, and when you read the seventh, you'll be blown away. That was my favorite HP book ever, and it was an amazing read. It might even compare to some of Frank Herbert's works, just more juvenile.

I always thought of myself as Gryffindor, but I guess I'm too smart for them, and ended up in Ravenclaw too.

Question in the order of the Phoenix is there a scene where Lovegood and ginny wesley are kidnapped or caught or some shit. However Im kinda doing an anaylsys of the characters and I need to know what specifically happens in this scene. Could someone post a paragraph or something?

Bump.

I just saw the sixth film, I was a little disappointed by it, to be honest. I really liked the fifth film, so I was pretty happy to hear it was being directed by the same guy, David Yates. But I don't know, I felt like too much focus was placed on the love subplots. Then they just jumped right in to the cave scene and didn't even spend enough time talking about the Horcruxes. They did a good job establishing that Malfoy and the Death Eaters were up to something, but the love parts just drew the attention away from it. And they just didn't spend enough time talking about the Half-Blood Prince, so when Snape says it's him at the end, you just find it hard to care.

I was also kinda disappointed with Dumbledore's death, which I was anticipating. I hate how they did that slow-mo shot of him falling, it was pretty unnecessary. I felt they could've come up with something more dignified, but the wand-light thing at the end made up for it, I think. The battle scene at Hogwarts was really watered down too. Bleh. I can understand why they left out Dumbledore's funeral though.

Overall, I felt it was good for what it was, but it could've been so, so much better.
