You Fucking TROLL. The Mods have been notified.

Raged much? I'm trying to bring up a logical point and you ditch it and go straight for the personal attacks.

I'd say I'm very reasonable, but you aren't. The way I see Atheists is how Pants described them; that they're just a bunch of 13-16 year old kids who are oh-so excited that they're rebelling against mom and dad, and that they have to shove their beliefs everywhere they go. They're ALWAYS ignorant, and they NEVER listen to anyone else's points. I presented my points earlier on in this thread and you, again, ditched them and went straight for the personal attacks. What a great name you're making for yourselves.

I'm not trying to troll. I'm trying to have a discussion, but I'm being constantly let down by your personal attacks and ignorance.

Um no. That was from the 17th. You know? When you posted the same "you mad" picture 10 times in a row and ignored all our posts and called us atheist fags. Don't even pretend like you were being legit there. You got banned for a reason.

I'd say I'm very reasonable, but you aren't. The way I see Atheists is how Pants described them; that they're just a bunch of 13-16 year old kids who are oh-so excited that they're rebelling against mom and dad, and that they have to shove their beliefs everywhere they go.

Rebelling 13-16 year olds? How about the forefront of research and scientific study in this world? 93% of the scientists in the National Academy of Sciences are self-proclaimed atheists according to this. Atheism isn't a "phase" that we're all going through. It's simply much more common for people to not believe in the bible, because fewer people are being propagated into it as young, impressionable children. The world is growing up ph0ne, and if you catch on, so will you.

And They're ALWAYS ignorant, and they NEVER listen to anyone else's points.

Pretty harsh generalization to make by someone who is supposedly Jewish.

I presented my points earlier on in this thread and you, again, ditched them and went straight for the personal attacks. What a great name you're making for yourselves.

Every time you made a legitimate argument, i've responded exactly as I have in this post. Very detailed, very relevant, and as unbiased as I can allow myself to make them. You tend to ignore my posts, and respond to the people who are being hateful. That's not reasonable. If you think someone is acting like a troll, don't feed the fire.

I'm not trying to troll. I'm trying to have a discussion, but I'm being constantly let down by your personal attacks and ignorance.

The very first post you put up in this thread was "jews are the chosen people. /thread." You weren't coming in here to have a discussion with us, you came in here to get us all fired up so that you could post that "you mad" picture 10 times. You'll have to forgive me for not thinking you're a legitimate person to have a debate with, because you've made a fool of yourself in this thread, and it has nothing to do with your beliefs. Just understand that we're not all like the atheists at your high school. Once you hit a certain maturity level, you're able to understand things a little more clearly. Just understand ph0ne, religion isn't the future, it's the past. I'll just leave this here for dramatic effect.

I went back to the area to see what questions we posed to you ph0ne, and any statements made toward you by non-members of The Atheist Army.
1. If one can't explain any sort of belief logically, why should one believe in it?
2. Is the bit of comfort that religion clearly offers you worth the generally bad things religion as a system causes, either directly or indirectly?
3. Are you ever bothered by parts of your religion that are a) not found in your holy book or b) contradictory?
This is from DJ-Chivalin:
Dear Gentiles, Jews, and any other religious folk,
I just want to leave a short message. First off, I am a Catholic, so dont think otherwise.
I just want to say that if you have a problem with atheists, DONT be an asshole toward them.
How can you call yourselves children of God but instead of trying to convert or preach to the atheists
you just sit here and spam them and insult them? They are human beings just like me and you.
When St. Paul was trying to convince the Ephesians to become Christians when they were proving
stubborn, did he be an asshole? No. He turned to God and prayed. As for all the Biblical characters who were missionaries or people who wanted to talk to atheists or unbelievers, name one who was an asshole. Please, examine yourself. Jesus doesnt force himself in someone's life, so why should you.
-Thank You
By the way, don't go around calling people atheistfags and fag n******, and using condescending, poorly made cartoons. And then having the audacity to wonder why those same people don't give your arguments a lot of merit. If anyone here went into the Jew Crew and called everyone ignorant jewfags, we'd be flamed to oblivion and rightly so.

theists itt:

stop throwing shit at walls to see what sticks. Make proper arguments and respond to other people's arguments in a decent and worthwhile manner.

atheists itt:

if someone is not making decent points, don't bother replying. Do not feed the trolls.

this club has turned to shit since I left; someone needs to lay down the law. Next time you get total spazzy Christians in here arguing in an incoherent manner, tell them to fuck off and don't bother replying. Only reply to people who are making genuinely interesting arguments.

The most recent 'Penn and Teller: Bullshit' was about the Vatican; you might enjoy it.

That ph0ne character wouldn't stop being a douche pretty much no matter what (although he seems to have calmed down a little now.) Mods were notified and he took a break from the BBS after his little trolling spree. Most of the atheists have done a pretty good job of not feeding the fire, but a few of them caved in. I wouldn't say that means the club turned to shit though. This is one of my favorite threads.

If it's anywhere near as good as the episode where they broke down Christianity, then I'm gonna have to check that out. Haha. I love those guys.

Atheists are people who do not believe in anything without seeing evidence for it. Granted, absence of proof is not necessarily proof of absence, but still: If you can show us conclusive proof, go right ahead.
And on a side note, you don't make any friends by calling them ignorant. You'll get more flies with honey than vinegar

We can't. It's just with every passing day, modern science backs the LIKELIHOOD of dogmatic gods into a corner. Each day, as we discover more of the universe, the general basis of every religion becomes more and more questionable. Where/what is heaven? How come god hasn't given us any blatant signs of his existence? Why is it that although god spoke freely to people thousands of years ago, that he complete ignores us today? As more and more time passes, we become more and more inclined to believe that god doesn't exist. The only thing driving modern man into these religions is fear of punishment for not doing so, and we refuse to be blackmailed into believing in things that aren't as likely the answer as some other theories. The atheist goal isn't to disprove god though, it's to find out the truth. If god blatantly exposed himself, every person in this thread would renounce their ways and believe that he is what created the universe.

It isn't that we're terrible people who refuse to accept the truth, we're just accepting what we know as the most likely answer to our questions, simply because, based off of modern science, odds are we're right. Of course me personally, if I died, and found myself at the pearly gates, and knew at that moment that the god of the bible/talmud/kuran did in fact create us, I would accept this, and talk to god and tell him "I'm sorry sir, I made an honest mistake. I would have followed you had I known your ways were right, had I felt in my heart that you truly did exist." If he wouldn't accept that as an answer, I'd rather not worship him anyways, because I've done nothing but follow my heart and do what I believed was best with the equipment he gave me. That doesn't put me in the wrong, does it?

Seriously though, I'm an Athiest. I considered myself Agnostic until I read something in a Dave Gorman book that made me think 'whats the point in even considering the possibility'. Can't remember what it was that made me think that though.

I still think Religion is really interesting mind, did it at A level for two years and would of done it at University had I not wanted to do Music Production instead.

For me it was the book "Letter to a Christian Nation" by Sam Harris. I read that when I was a sophomore or so in high school and it really changed my perspective on a lot of things. I too was an agnostic before that. Everyone here who hasn't read that book should really check it out. He breaks it down so well that it makes it look ridiculous to believe.

I've thought about taking a class like that when I get out of the army and go to school. Although it's looking at it negatively, religion is still a big part of my life, and being an atheist is one of my defining characteristics. I still love to learn to about the bible and other religious writings, if nothing else but for ammo. Haha.

Atheists are the same people preaching from a different bible.

Theists quote the Bible and other unproven tales.
Atheists quote science journals and unproven theorems.

Holy texts explain natural events in a way that the general public accept as truth.
Scientific studies explain natural events in a way the general public accepts as truth.

The Bible explain the beginning of the universe and life after death.
A science textbook explains the beginning of the universe and the end of life.

Religious extremeists preach and hate on "non-believers" and "sinners."
Atheist extremeists vent hatred on the "gullible public" and scorn those who believe in "imaginary friends."

The Bible backs its claims on "the word of God."
Science backs its claims on "logic and reasoning."

I find it hard to see this any other way.

No, they don't.

Each day, as we discover more of the universe, the general basis of every religion becomes more and more questionable.

No, it doesn't.

Where/what is heaven?

It could exist outside the realms of time and space, or perhaps not at all.

How come god hasn't given us any blatant signs of his existence?

He does not intervene.

Why is it that although god spoke freely to people thousands of years ago, that he complete ignores us today?

Perhaps the Bible is false, and all the people claiming to hear him are crazies.

As more and more time passes, we become more and more inclined to believe that god doesn't exist.

You may, but you would be wrong.

The only thing driving modern man into these religions is fear of punishment for not doing so, and we refuse to be blackmailed into believing in things that aren't as likely the answer as some other theories.

Logic drove me to Religion.

The atheist goal isn't to disprove god though, it's to find out the truth.

The Religious folks goal is to show you the truth.

If god blatantly exposed himself, every person in this thread would renounce their ways and believe that he is what created the universe.

I disagree, most Atheists have already made up their mind that God is false and illogical and that there is absolutely no chance that He exists.

It isn't that we're terrible people who refuse to accept the truth, we're just accepting what we know as the most likely answer to our questions

Explain to me exactly why you feel God is unlikely.

, simply because, based off of modern science, odds are we're right.

Tell me about these odds.

That doesn't put me in the wrong, does it?

Let's hope not.

The Bible doesn't explain. It makes things up.
Science's theories are rigorously tested to the point where doubt is irrelevant.
There is a process to it all. Unlike 'Ooh, just believe, yeah? The universe was made by love, candyfloss and magic'.

Religious extremeists preach and hate on "non-believers" and "sinners."
Atheist extremeists vent hatred on the "gullible public" and scorn those who believe in "imaginary friends."

Extremists of any variety aren't worth acknowledging really.
