No.

How is it possibly as moral to do something good for divine favour as it is to do something good because it's the right thing?

hey every body. I have a tale to spin. A few days ago, me and my christian friend were talking about religion. I said how stupid it was that she believed that the bible was fact when it was full of contradictions. She said that there were not any contradictions in the bible. I said yes there are. So then she asked for proof. Next day, i gave her a couple index cards with the exact quotes and where specifically to find them. Day after that, i asked her if she found them. To my amusement and sense of triumph, she hesitantly said yes. Then, she tried to defend the bible by saying that i had to read those contradictions in context. Hah! Well, i think it's time to check the religious scoreboard. Hmmmm. Atheists: 2 Christians/Catholics: 0. Oh yeah, if you're wondering why 2, a few days earlier than that, i commented on how she believed that god was kind and loving when he wasn't. She asked me to give an example and i did. I said, if god is loving, then why does he punish all of mankind for the sins of adam and eve. This was another point because she said, "yeah, ok that is a good point". Ha.

You know what? You atheists say that the Bible might as well have been shot by a firing squad named Contradiction, yet I fail to see any contradictions.

LOL I love it when people use that particular quote. Just shows how much of bible people have actually read. Besides when they use that quote they sometimes give ridiculas excuses to the contradictions or just ignore them.

You shouldnt attack others beliefs in front of them, but you can still make fun of them for having those beliefs.

You can make fun of anyone for believing whatever they want. Even if it's got nothing to do with religion. It just all depends on how sensitive the subject is.

of course, i agree with what you say. It does depend on the sensitivity of the situation. In my defense, we were just friends have a conservation. That's it. We still are friends and we still talk about this kind of stuff.

Then beat them up. Why argue verbally? It's easier, quicker, more efficient, and leaves more of an impression. Or you could take the piss out of them for something other than their religion.

I've learned, that with friends at least, making fun of their beliefs is all right if you just use stupid stereotypes and false information, and only if they know youre more tolerant and knowledgable than that. If they know you arent serious than its funny and not as offensive.

This may be a little late, but what are our opinions on that movie, "The Reaping". To me, it seems like that this movie is more than just a horror movie.

I posted to say I was in.

In? In where? in the club? Or in god's flock of mindless sheep? It is truly sad to see an atheist betray reason and logic.

I just found this club and like what I see.

Ok, so a few posts back it was talking about christians verbally assualting atheists and I have a story to share that is along the same vein but not quite as..... well verbal.

So here it goes, my father lives down in the southern united states and as it was a court order I had to go down there every summer until I was 16 to visit with him. Now the south is an extremly religious region (or at least the part of the south I was in, stupid bible belt) and one day a friend and I were walking around in the area and as we were talking got on the subject of religion. Now as it happened we passed by some people while we were having this conversation, my friend made the mistake of mentioning the fact that I was atheist to a man standing by his truck who happened to hear us. The guy starts to cuss at me and calls me names like godless heathen and other such nonesense and to my surprise the bastard reaches in his truck and pulls a shotgun on me telling me that if I don't leave right then the bastard was going to send me to hell where I belong. Ha, yeah and according to this idiot i'm the one who was going to hell.

Knights Templars huh? Funny you should mention them, seeing as they were excommunicated and then hunted down and executed by the same people they were working for. It was not until recently that the Vatican forgave them, but a big fuck-up like that isn't gonna be fixed with an apology. I would be amazingly pissed off!
