I'm going to leave my religious/nonreligious perspectives at the door here, because I feel like asking you guys some questions.
1. Why do some of you always assume someone is unintelligent when they believe in God? Please give me a clear and concise answer on this, outside of "LOL GOD IS NAT REAL THEY DUM!"
Well...You're assuming that every atheist does that. Which I could easily mention that religious people always say "Lol atheists are dumb cous they got no morals" which they all 3 statements are untrue. It all depends on who you are talking to when discussing religion.
2. Why is it that I am constantly ridiculed for my beliefs, yet am referred to as "oppressive"(I couldn't honestly care more if someone shared my views) when the subject of religion is brought up, and I state my beliefs(No, I don't try to convert people or force them to accept my view as the only correct one)?
That may just be due to the area you're living in. I've never been called opressive and neither has any of my religious friends.
3. Why(looking at this club every now and then) do you(not as a group, only certain members) seem to hate religion with a passion when all major religions promote peacefulness and loving others?
We don't hate religion. We just become rather aggressive when religious people come here and tell us our beliefs are wrong and we're going to burn in hell. Which they don't seem to grasp: We don't care. But I'd think you're a little out of line to say religion is peacefulness and loving, ever read the old testiment? Hell nearly all major religions say that if someone believes differently to what you do or tries to convert you, you must kill them. Religion is (sometimes) full of death, homosexuality, suffering, racism, sexism etc. It all depends on what you believe in and whether you want to follow it.
Not trying to insult you guys, I'd just like to have answers from a third perspective.
Answered, but unless you ask every atheist on Earth you wont get a definate answer.
