You atheists are no better than the religous nuts that started wars ages ago. You only create more division in our world. How can any of you be soo fucking sure there's no creator? Same for the religous. How can you be soo sure there IS a creator? You cant because we haven't seen it all yet. We don't know where we fit in this universe we dont know shit until we have hardcore fucking proof! Me? I'm neutral because i'm only human with no answers to these questions. If there IS a god, it's not my fault you put me on this Earth with no answers to these important questions. So I will NOT go to church if I dont know for sure if you even exist. Faith? Fuck faith. I want proof. I dont know if there's a god or not, I dont know if there isnt, and neither do any of you!

Athiests don't go around saying "there is no god"...well, I guess some do. But a lot of the athiests I know just don't believe there's a god, and it's probably the same for a lot of athiests. It also sounds like you've got more complaints about christians then athiests, but you raise some good points.

You do realise that Easter and Christmas are both so materialised that the actual religious celebration is lost. Has anyone in modern society actually celebrated these traditios as they would hundreds of years ago doing everything properly? Of course not, just another excuse to empty your wallet to give kids toys and stuff them with chocolate.

What confuses me about christians is that, there are so many holes in the bible and the testament and genesis and every other book about catholicism, when it's brought up, religious people go crazy about it. Then when you try to explain it, all they can do circle on one topic or just say, "God willed it" or something like that. I know that christians go here to flame us about our heresy and our non-belief, so all you religious folk out there, care to explain? Atheists free to respond as well.

The bible is a very open-ended book, while I doubt you've read it, it makes sense when you read it and take it for what it is. When you start to interpet it, thats when things get skewed. I'm personally a Catholic, yes I do confessionals and the whole "catholic" thing. The thing that irritates me about MY religion is that some people have the compulsive urge to force religion apon people. If your athisist, fine. If you think when you die thats it, its over then thats fine. I'm not going to go "OMGz you'll burn in hell if you don't belive in Jeuzs!!1!!" But it also goes the other way. If you see the 10 commandments in a courthouse, or when they say "in god we trust", don't flip out. If you don't belive then don't say "in god we trust" its there more for tradition than anything else, besides considering 84% of america is christian, the majority should rule, right?

I know that the bible has a lot of great morals to teach, but it's when the fanatics live exactly by the book like that one chick on "Trading Spouses". That's the part I hate, no offense to any fanatics. It's not wrong to be religious, but there are some things that religion is stopping scientists from doing to the full potential. I can't think of anything at the moment besides stem cell research. Also, do any other catholics feel that it's wrong to push religion on others?

We Can center around those holes all we want, but they religious are very stubborn, and will center around a general topic until proven false then move to the next topic, stronger then before, until their entire book is disproven which I'm guessing they just want to have hope and faith, to have a reason to live and to die. However, If not for the promise of heaven, I doubt anyone would obey God. Agreed?

untrue. Like i said, i'm an atheist, and i don't obey god. However, in lieu of the this figure, i lead life through the system of morality, common sense, consequence, and knowledge. Seriously, i doubt the atheists here go out everyday and commit crimes just cause there is no god. Also, how would you explain the religious cult leaders who say their jesus incarnate, like at WACO. It seems that more crime is committed by religious folk BECAUSE of the fact that they can to pretend to repent and still go to heaven. Am i right?

hey i'd like to join, however i am protestant but i'm not religious at all i havent been to a church service since i was like 7 or 8 years old b/c i dont believe there is a god or satan or any other religous beliefs like that. Pretty much what cabosetek said right there is my perspective on religion, i dont go around denouncing about god or anything like that i just dont believe in him and i respect others beliefs. As a matter of fact i actually have beliefs of my own when it comes to beliefs in an after life but it doesnt involve gods or anything like that.

How can you be protestant but not religious? Are you a deist or an agnostic or what? This club is for atheists, so unless you are an atheist, I don't think you should join.

They don't give them a chance to choose for themselves. I used to be budhist because it what was my parents. As i grew up, i, like most people, chose what i wanted for myself. i apologize for the double post, but SEE, THAT right there is what i'm talking about. Also, isn't ironic that it's the atheists that are tolerant of others and their religion and it's those religious folk who are yelling at everyone?

yeah exactly i totally agree, there's plenty of ppl out there that r apart of a religion but never go to church b/c they dont think there's a god or any other religious shit like that and i'm one of them. I wasnt really forced by my parents as a kid to join a religion i was just born and baptised and yeah...they put me in my parents religion, i've only ever been to like 3 church services in my life but when i was 8 i went for the third time in my life and that was it b/c church was boring and i didnt like it. Then as i got older and grew a mind of my own i realised that there cant be a god or anything like that b/c it was all just rediculous to me, all the hocus pocus crap about him and his magical powers and.....i mean it was just so stupid to believe that there's an almighty being watching over every move u make. But yeah like cabosetek said i'm not religious and thats what counts so therefore i should join.

I think Buddhism is the only religion I have high respect for. It promotes tolerance towards other religions. Thus fundementalists don't get the wrong idea.
