II figure this is a dumb question, but the hell:
How does a audio track become a Gold or Platinum track? Is it by views?

no, it's by downloads. I think gold is about 500, platinum 1000, not 100% sure though. Lots of cheating goes on with people downloading their own trx then cancelling the download to increase their stats though. You can noramlly spot the culprits a mile off tho, cos they usually only have 1 or two reviews even the trk is gold/platinum, that's an obvious sign.

I think I may be quilty on that one. I sent it to alot of my friends, and told them to download it...Now I have like 100+ and it's still new. I didn't know that changed it. So yea, sorry about that. Won't happen again. Next time I'll just let the NG community decide it's quality. Sorry again.
And thanks for answering my question. Speaking of audio, I have heard some of your stuff, and it's quite good. What program do you use? If it is Magix Music Maker 10, could you give me some pionters on how to make it alittle better?
And even if you don't use Magix Music Maker 10, how do you make such good music?
Like, I'm a guitarist, but I've never done anything like this before. I think I'm doing okay for a newbie, but no one will review my music. Could it be because I'm a newbie that no one wants to listen to my music.
I put a link to it in my signature, if everyone could view it, and review it to maybe give me some pointers on anything I did wrong, that would be great. You don't even have to download. I just want to know how to do better. My downloading problem won't happen again. I promise!

Gold - 500 downloads
Platinum - 1000 downloads
2nd Platinum - uhh, I think it's 3000 downloads
Diamond - 5000 downloads. The only diamond I've ever seen is GS_Screamer's Rock Temple - Loz 2.

Thanks alot man. And like I said, I will leave it up to the NG community to judge my work. It wouldn't be fair to make all my friends listen to it and download, it would make me look like a prick, and I try not to be one, lol. So yea...won't happen again.

Well, if the score is lower than 3.00/5.00, very few people will review it. You see, now that you are a newbie to NG Audio, understand the mass amount of 0-voters bombing people's songs (for no reason most of the time). Anyway, none of my stuff is on the first pages, so it doesn't get as much popularity. Most of my stuff is on the second and third pages. The only people that will review your music are the ones who have to have something to write about in your reviews, and also have to be looking around the pages 2-5. Hope this helped.

It did, alot. Yea, I would prefer some one review my work have something helpful to say like what LJCoffee had to say about my first piece with Magix Music Maker 10, Eckhart's Project One
He really said some stuff that helped tremendously (sp?). That is the kind of review I would like. Not this:
"Yo, man! Your shit sucks!"- That is not helpful at all. So to whoever does vote and review, please do it fairly. If it sucks vote low, if you like it vote high. And if you have tips on how to fix it up, review. Thanks alot.

Cheers for the compliment. Up until recently I only used hardware equipment, an SP808EX(digital four trk, sampling and fx unit) with a mic and DJX keyboard and guitars. Now my hardware has suffered a bit of a breakdwon and's gonna cost me loads to get fixed, so I have started making music on my computer for the first time using Reason 3.0, which I must say i very adaptable and good fun to use and learn.
I've been making music for about 6 years so it's taken me a while to get profficeint and doin it:) Takes a lot of patience.

I agree about how frustrating it must be for you to try and stand up amidst the neverending waves of zerovoters that whittle everything down - they are like time - if you dont rise against it you will be beaten down by it. Even we have trouble staying around and mostly its by reputation that we stay around as long as we do - just be really enthusiastic and submit a lot of music and keep at it and you should be ok - also it helps to develop a fanase and a circle of friends to help you out.
as far as golds etc go:
gold 500 dls
platinum: 1000 dls
double platinum 2000 dls (hence the word "double")
diamond 5000 dls
andthing above that - pfft nothing - altho there should be- like double diamond - but most people arent expected to get that high so it is understandable that nothing has been made to celebrate getting that high - my goal - in like 5 years - will be to have all my songs diamond - so start d/ling my stuff everybody! Hahahaha ya right...
