Thanks to everyone who has been helping to make icons for all the entries on the site! However, there are some people who are submitting images that are of very poor quality. If you notice your image doesn't look as good as the Flash entry you grabbed it from, please refrain from submitting it. If you don't have the proper software to make clean, high quality images from your screen grabs we would appreciate it if you did not submit them.

Some of our users have been submitting a lot of high quality images and we salute you!

If you have a good image editing program, such as Photoshop, and would like to help make icons, click here!

Well, you can get around the low quality icon making abilities of MS Paint by just renaming the file extension from .bmp to .gif, but the only problem with that is that it makes the file-size skyrocket. Something that would normally be 2KB turns into 75 KB.

Actually, since liljim has the filesize set so high, I might try my hand at making some with that ridiculous size. At least one, anyway. :-)

Yay for icons! I did I bunch of them already but I should make more...I need a good slot of time to make them. Some people make a whole lot of icons, I just have to get back in the groove.

UPDATE: This method doesn't work at all. Newgrounds is too clever when even my computer and all other programs recognize it as a .gif. So, ignore what I said. I'll stop being lazy, get Fireworks on here and work on it some more.

I have photoshop and I sometime sharpen the image just a little bit if it's too blurry :P

Yes, icon mods are in place to make sure shitty icons that are distorted or bad quality don't get in.

It's not very easy to use Newgrounds at the moment though, nor is it to make icons... something seems to be REALLY slowing down downloads... It could just be me though.
It's like when I'm on Newgrounds, I'm on Dail up, and a SWF elsewhere loads as fast as my connection can handle...

I'd always wondered where the icons came from but didn't really ever put in the time to figure it out... now I know. And knowing is half the battle. Getting your leg blown off by a hidden mine is the other half.

It always gives me a 'file type error' for everytime I submit the icon I made for George Foreman Colorgrill... I've converted it to gif and everything too, it's a reasonable size, huh.

Does anyone know any free conversion OSX programs that can convert to gif? Download.com is being a little bitch >:(

Hey, you're one of the people I emailed. Your icons were barely visable. Maybe you don't see what we're seeing. Whatever you are submitting looks like garbage one our system processes it, while other users submit images that look perfectly clean and crisp. I should have saved some of them as an example. :)

I was wondering when we were going to have the option to edit/change our existing icons via our gold grounds menu.
Someone made an icon for one of my movies that is less than flattering. Original authors should always have the option to change their icons.
