Happy Passover everyone... kosher is going to be a challenge this year... lots and lots of salad. (thank you college)
Anyway, I hope everyone has a good sedar, which I won't get to have this year... :'(
this is depressing...
well i did :) ended about 12:30 only because me and my dad couldn't come to terms one a price for the afikomen, the way i saw it he was going to promise me money if he wanted to eat the afikomen and go to sleep;) so another successful seder comes and goes.

Oh dear god! I just hope that he knows that the song is not in Yiddish, but in Hebrew. So weird that someone have made a "music video" about this song.

No... Besides, the guy who have made it is not Israeli, he is Dutch. This movie was made as a tribute to the awesome movie author LazyStick\Lazy Boy\LazyMuffin\Yotam perel. I have also seen one review there when the reviewer says "Jews rule", which is a bit of an exaggeration, but it is nice.

wow didnt know there that many isrealis on ng. well learn something new every day XD
so i should prob switch it to "you think your the only one who likes isreali music on ng?" :)

well since he prob meant it as "were awesome" not "jews secretly rule the world" i wouldnt think to be an exaggeration ;)

It seems like there aren't so many Israelis in this site, this is one of the reason of which the club is not active anymore. But there are some Israelis, not a few too.
so i should prob switch it to "you think your the only one who likes isreali music on ng?" :)
This is not really Israeli music, this is Jewish music, we do not listen to this in our free time, we have some normal songs (although the music of today inIsrael is crappy). No, what I was surprised from is that a Dutch person made this movie.
well since he prob meant it as "were awesome" not "jews secretly rule the world" i wouldnt think to be an exaggeration ;)
Yes, this is what I think he has meant, actually, I didn't even think for a second that he meant that we secretly rule the world. What I mean is that it is an exaggeration to say Jews rule, or at least this is what I think.

Today, as I forgot to mention in my last post, is the annual Israeli holocause remembrance day. In this day, the 27th of Nisan (Hebrew calender) of every year, we in Israel have a special day in which we have to respect the memory of the 6 milion Jews who were murdered in the holocaust. Today at 10:00 AM there was this siren for two minuted in which we had to stand, like in every year. Anyway, read the article I have linked to if you are very interested, or ask me if you want to know something..

It is nice that also Jews from the countreys outside of Israel are also marking this day. We had a ceremony at school to mark this day. Anyway, is your girlfriend Jewish as well?

OK... I feel the necessity to rant here.
Today is Yom HaShoah. @ my shul, there is a memorial service. PLEZ Someone answer me. Why is it (maybe its just conservative) that more people will show up to Yom HaShoah services THAN PURIM SERVICES. I do not understand, maybe I never will. More than Shabbos. More than Channukah. Save only Rosh HaShana and Yom Kipur, it has the highest turn out. How does G-d feel about this. That we might be a people who like being depressed. There is the tradition of bribing some congrigant to read torah portions we don't like, so why this..
This is insanity!!!!

well the main reason is because people connect more to the holocaust because its so recent, so they feel obligated to take time out of their day to commemorate their distant relatives who dies in it.

Oh, i didn't know that, I thought it is only an Israeli holiday, didn't know all of the Jews around the world are marking it. In Israel at that day, there are about 70 TV shows showing about 100 survivors every day, and this is all you have to see, since the regular shows are not showed on Holocaust remembrance day. It is pretty interesting to hear their stories, in spite of what I thought before.

Well, its not that extreme over here lidov. A mojority of us from what I've seen light a candle in memory and say a prayer... and there are talks and things for communities to do, but it is in no way a national thing like it is where you are.

The thing is not how you do it, I don't really think that the people who do it in a more extreme way understand the meaning of the day better. This day was meant in order to remember the horrible thing that has been done to our people over than 60 years ago. You remember it also if you only light a candle and say a prayer (which by the way, I didn't do, I have only been in a ceremony).

By Yom Hazikaron you mean the rememberance day for the soldiers who have fallen in Israel's wars, or something else? And once again, I didn't know that, I had no idea that the Jews outside of Israel celebrate YomHaAtzmaut, the Israeli independance day, I also don't really see why. Anyway, it is good to know.

Well we don't really have "ranks" ... but if you are jewish you generally know it. So it comes down to whether you call yourself a jew or not. Either way, you are an equal here.

You realize Christian isn't a race right.
So you can't be half Christian.
And Jewish is a member of a religion.

No, Jewish is a religion, a nationality and a race. A semite is not a race, since both the Jews and the Arabs are semites, and we are not from the same race.

You mean a non existant nationality.
When the Hebrews settled Palestine and all that they started Isreal, then the split to Judea.
Thousands of years later Isreal again.
I can agree on the religion.
But wouldn't the race be Hebrew instead.

well because jews all over the world feel a strong connection to isreal. before 1948, it was controlled by arabs who restricted certain holy sites, even thoughwe couldnt get to the kotel till 1967, 28 signified the beggining jews coming back to their homeland.
