Has anyone ever ran out of gas on a motorboat and been stuck in the middle of a lake? Well, it happened to me and a couple other people the other day. We were tubing, when my uncle was like, "shit, we're out of gas". First we tried towing the boat by grabbing on to a rope and swimming, but that was WAY too slow, then we tried using umbrellas for sails, but that was WAY too slow also, so me and my cousin had to swim like half a mile to shore and get help from one of the locals. After walking like a mile, we found this old fat guy with no shirt on, and he called the gas station, but it was closed. So then he called the sherrif. The sherrif had to tie a rope to our boat, and tow us back home. Wow, what a day.

You did all that? All you had to do was fill a weather balloon up partly with baking soda, then add 20 or so gallons of vinegar, and boom! Instant propulsion!
So often times it happens, that we live our lives in chains, and we never even know we had the key...

Would emergency paddles have helped?

Damn! Why didn't I think of that?
And no, we didn't have any paddles in the boat.

That's why they invented flares.
