It actually has to do with taste.
Fl is good in a way
Reason is good in a way
It's all just a matter of the will to learn and progress.
I think that fl is more beginner friendly tho (what i've heard).
No prog is better than the other, tho it's a matter of will to learn by yourself.
Tho i suggest trying them both.

I like acid, you can do a lot of cool things. However you must make sure you must have a lot of your own raw audio or a wide variety of loopz to work with or it isn't much use.
A friend in need is a friend indeed, but a friend with weed is better.

*weighs programs*
both have great potential - and both can produce professional results - its just fl takes a lot of SKILL to sound professional - and most people don't bother with this. As B0UNC3 and I can vouch for - when ppl listen to your fl songs and ask "did you use Reason to make this?" you know it's pretty good.
Also I hate ppl that talk in gangster vocabulary. This is the audio forum - learn to speak like the rest of us please.

Hmmm i took one look at reason and thought mmm thats nice, i wonder what that does.
Whereas i saw FL, looked at it for 5 mins and never touched it again.....
Acid Pro took me about 2 weeks to get the basics of, but thats cos i didnt know anything about sequencing or anything then.....
My take on it:
Reason - soundbank owns.
FL - not sure, but i've heard its got some very good wav effects you can do.
Acid Pro - good sequencer, good VST ("module") effects can be found and used. But quite unreliable, i had pro 4 crash on me at least 20 times everyday, but pro 5 seems to crash only when i try rewiring with reason, but i'll figure it out.

This is a bit wrong so let me correct that:
EASY AND PROFESSIONAL = FL5+ReWired+REASON 3.0 - For advanced users!
This is an explosive mix , try it !!!

I have been using Acid Pro 3.0 by Sonic Foundry, for about 4 years now. I know most of the program by the back of my hand. It is a wonderfull tool for looping and editing premade sound files. For the last 3 months I have been madly in love with a well mentioned program by Propellerhead Software called Reason 3.0. This is by far the ultimate in sound synth, and worth every penny I spent.
Acid Pro Pack:
-Uses most forms of sound files including mp3, wave, aif, midi, and more
-It can include a proffessional sound file editing studio called SoundForge to create custom loops and professional quality.
-Can include a movie editing program built right into the main Acid program, allowing you to perfectly sequence you loops with your movie.
-Supports nearly an infinite amount of loops toggled on the mapping window for one song. (I used over 50 files in one song before)
-Compatible with almost any OS, needing low requirements to work
Reason 3.0:
-Primarily used for total creation outta scratch.
-All synths and samples sound 100% authentic.
-Comes with one drum machine (ReDrum) capable of playing 9 loops, each loop being an individual percussion/fx sound.
-Comes with one drum looping device (Dr. Rex) capable of looping a sample of any type of percussion beat-hundreds of samples included.
-Two synthesizers, one is a combo sound manipulator, the other is a single drive engine. (TRUST ME THE GADGETS ON THESE SOUND PANELS IS AMAZING TO SEE)
http://www.propellerheads.se/
-Two samplier programs designed to digitally sample any audio saved as an .aif file.
-Others include combinators(will blow your mind in complexity), equalizers, digital fx generators, reverb, flangers, etc.
-This program is loaded with a preset sound bank, and sounds totally professional.
-Only set back is, you better be serious about making music cause the typical retail price runs between $400 and $550.
-Capable of producing all genres of music from techno, rock, hip hop, to classical and beyond...I even used it to make a spooky ambience loop for a tattoo shop's webpage.
-It has been the greatest music tool I have ever used.
Other programs I have used is a demo called Orion Platinum. This program inspired me to get Reason, becuase it is simply a less advanced version. I hope this info will help.
