That true. Considering it's my first userbar I've ever used and made I'm quite proud, even though it's easy. I'll probably change it when I make a better sig.

Anywho, I started maple two years ago wih my friends. We had great, unusal, fun, mostly unusual times. Eventually, all my stopped playing and move to Wow or just stopped playing. The reason I still play is cause unlike other MMOs, I'm loyal to games I like and I actually enjoy it and it's free, seeing how I am cheap (I would say broke but even when I do have money I rather not pay for games like that, seem like a waste to pay for something you may or may not play.) Often I would stop playing maple for months due to life. I find that funny cause when I see others that started the same time as me they have like lvl 7X or up at least and my strongest guy is lvl 52. I'm amazed with how popular the game has gotten in America. I've looked at a couple of vids of Wonderking and I gotta say, Maple actually has some actual competition within it's same category. The game literally looks like a clone of Maple with some sprite, image and gamplay mechanics changes, it's creepy.

I'm amazed with how popular the game has gotten in America.

I thought it was originally American until one of the above posts - which would explain the "other versions" in other countries.

I've looked at a couple of vids of Wonderking and I gotta say, Maple actually has some actual competition within it's same category. The game literally looks like a clone of Maple with some sprite, image and gamplay mechanics changes, it's creepy.

Wonder if Nexon's taken notice? Doubt they'd file a lawsuit, but I'm sure they're keeping their eyes on it.

It's definitely something Nexon can't take lightly. Even the maps look similar with a few alternate tweeks, and I use that term lightly. I'm not too worried about it. It would most likely turn into a rivalry thing like Capcom/SNK, Jak & Daxter/Ratchet & Clank, Infamous/Prototype. Competition may be some good for Nexon seeing as they got to keep their most popular on top by one-upping some actual competition making the game better. Speaking of one-upping, when are those Cygnus Knights coming out? The ads advertising them is starting to bug me when they're not even out yet.

Level 17 Warrior. I believe I still qualify as a newb to many people. From my last old log on there has been many changes. Mostly including the new family option, where as the rest escapes my memory at this moment.

Only sign of them coming out soon was some guy I saw while playing the game yesterday (By this, I mean Tuesday) that said it would come out in a week. All you need is an open character slot and at least a lvl 20 in that same world/server.

Naw, most of us won't bite your head off. We welcome all from Maple. I play on and off too, I really only become active during big breaks. When I came back to maple the family thing threw me off too. But it turns out it's simplier than it appears, at least to me.

It's a system that allows you to become a mentor to characters weaker than you. Sort of like Master-Apprentice thing. As the apprentice(s) gain more exp, the mentor gains family points which allows them to gain certain benefits and bonuses if they gain enough points.

It's somewhat strange on the player(s)'s behalf because on and off players, like you and me, often are deemed space wasters since no one knows if the player is ever gonna play again. I've been expelled from almost 10 guilds because my lack of activeness. In fact, I got expelled for not playing for a week :P

I know, I can never find the time to just sit and play this game. Whenever I'm at my computer I have other things that need to be done and in the end I don't have enough time to play the game. I'm probably one of the lame losers because I actually go to bed at a decent time. XP

In other versions of MS such as the Japanese one; the NX items either stay for a longer period of time (A year?) or don't ever leave at all. And the items disappear after 90 days in the Global version because they know they can do it, people will accept it and they will be able to make more money using this method due to people having to re-buy the shit every three months. The company will treat their own kind better than those scum North Americans and rest of the world. It's not about the player, it's about the money.

Isn't playing the game a waste of time (Which is just as valuable as time) in the first place? If you implement a game that attracts and keeps addictive players wasting more and more countless hours playing it, you will get the idea to also implement a money stealing system for having attracted customers with such mentalities.

Seriously? Yeah, ok, it's a free game, and they DO have to make money somehow, but that's a load of bullshit. I was under the impression that once you bought it, YOU BOUGHT IT.

Yea, it sucks when Balrogs. I've actually never seen them in game before, I just know they exist. But usually when I'm afk on ship, I come back to my computer back at my starting point saying, "Fuck....That's another 15 minutes wasted..." Dying in maple is very taxing no matter what lvl you are cause no matter what, you have to kill 200-2000 of monsters just to get back to normal.

I once brought NX, cause I used to have time like that, and I went NUTS!!! I brought stuff that wasn't even necessary cause, coincidentally, I had money like that too :/ Then I got punished for three months for school and when I came back all my stuff was gone. Since then I never brought another thing cause for me I buy to BUY, not to rent. Th fact I was paying for a FREE game was degrading enough. XD

Well, everyone has their own preferences. I perfer to Xbox live and Playstation network. Playing online with playstation network is free and xbox live you can do whatever you can possibliy dream of online. I can go on but this is a Maplestory thread so going back on topic of the matter.

I'm actually getting really bugged by the Cygnus Knights. It's like a refugee giving a starving child a box and saying it's full of cherries. Then the kid opens up the box and it's empty. Then the refugee says "The box will be fill with cherriess....eventually." STOP TEMPTING ME!!!! The website keeps uploading more and more crap and advertisises them like crazy. It's like a bad itch.

In short, I can't wait for them to come out.

Well, I come with some good news. As of tommorow, and by tomorrow I mean Wednesday, MapleGlobal will finally get to experience the Cygnus Knights after a EIGHT to NINE HOURS update.

However, I grew bored of it and switched to a private server, lame I know.. I do check in on the global server from time to time to see if it's completely destroyed thanks to Nexon.

You can just go to Henesys mini dungeon and just go afk for about an half an hour. That's what I do, but everytime I do it, it feels like I wasted some valuable gaming time.

Yea, I did the same thing for some time. Private servers are a good break from the continous grind whether it's hunting or PQing. But I always come back to regular maple cause private servers are ultimately in the hands of the moderator. Sometimes the can be good or even really bad. Server crashes, character loss, glitches, and even sometimes plain stupidity. I remember I used to play in one private server despite all the glitches because it had the leisure in maple I was looking for. Easy lvling, amazing drop rate, rebirthing, easy access items for class and lvl, teleporting from place to place, everyhing including NX items just cost one meso. Sure it had server crashes and some glitches, but it was like a Maple fantasy until the moderator decided to take everything away so he can make it as much like actual Maple as possible. It was a bad decision cause a large portion of the population left and they went from the top 10 private servers and dropped DRAMATICALLY. So it just turned into a crappy version of regular Maplestory.

Well, I can't wait for tommorow even though every world of every channel will be like Scania fm1 for the next couple of days then, just like the pirates, the servers will be FILLED with cygnus knight noobs and the majority of maplers, like myself, despite the facts will contribute to that.

Picked myself up a Core i7 today for 300$. Still drooling a bit.

I order my parts just the other two nights ago. I made some adjustments to the build and it turned out even better for the same price due to some last minute finds. Parts most likely coming next week, just in time for my birthday, coincidence?
