i think their st.anger album is good, just not as good as their older albums. no solo's in it. oh well, every band has their bad years, and this is it probebly, even though its not so bad...they will come back up, almost all do. they, to me, are still the gods of metal.

St.Anger wouldn't have been as good even if it was jam-packed with solos. I say a good song is mostly the riffs, drum beats, bass and vox.

the problem was that they sounded like an unriffined garage band instead of a mutli million dollar band. which they are

Justice is lost
Justice is raped
Justice is gone
Pulling your strings
Justice is done
Seeking no truth
Winning is all
Find it so grim
So true
So real

metallica got too old. they're out of touch. since load, their record company has been trying to shove a new sound up their asses and it just sounds half-assed and contrived. they were much better as the mullet-clad redneck metal they used to be. still not really good though.

Metallica...god's of metal :/.
More like the god's of the MTV generation.
Metallica were shit back in the day, they're still shit, and they'll always be shit. Unless they get all new members, change their name, and play hyperspeed grind.

Nah Metallica need to get back to their old 80s roots.
Jarry if Metallica got new band members, changed their name and did a different style of music it obviously wouldn't be Metallica. It would be Hate Eternal.

They sued Napster for a good reason.
Metallica didn't want people getting all their music for free, because they would miss out on money and support from fans. Sure, they're being a little greedy there, but I would do the same thing.

Oh no, another new breed who thinks rock n rolls all about the money. Even if it was, they are FUCKING LOADED. Before that, i wanted to see them, after that, i didnt really care.
I get the feeling its not their fault and that they were forced by the recording company, but either way they were still fightin to hold onto cash.
What happened to rock n roll, when did rock n roll die and become about the money?

It has with a lot of bands. But the bands that aren't about the money or aren't a complete sellout are the best.
Machine Head
Mudvayne
Megadeth (Although Dave Mustaine did complain about being the shadow behind Metallica)
but plenty of other bands, although they need the money, they don't really care for it that much. They just want the loyalty of their fans (and they also like doing the music).
