And that's something done right?
I'm serious here. Has America actually done any thing worthwhile?

That's a little short-sighted...
Are your views on the current political climate so skewed that you refuse to acknowledge anything this country has ever done? Surely you're not serious...

I'd have to say Pizza Hut, Dr. Pepper, the Camaro, a little used material called STEEL, a machine you weirdos accross the pond call "the Lift" and my girlfreind. I think that's enough to say that America has had a good effect on the world.

A disgusting, monstrous, greed-driven corporation-ruled society that's actually produced some really really useful technology way faster than we would have produced it if people actually enjoyed their lives.

Such an achievement in fact that they had to manufacture it in CANADA to ensure it was done so properly.

everything america does just makes me laugh. the usa government sends troops to other countries to fix them up while neglecting their own country as it rots from the inside out.

People are allowed to disscent... to a great extent.
We couldn't have so many of our liberties and civil rights had there no means of way to protest.

You are all missing the obvious answer here. Think about it for a moment: "What has America ever done right?" Haven't figured it out yet? Okay. America was the first country to detonate an atomic weapon. If that isn't an example of something America has done right, I do not know what is!

History will judge that action's value.
My question is what's this thread actually supposed to be about? Is it what america's done right as in what it's really good at doing or what it's done right as in what has it produced that has benefitted mankind?

but it wasn't America on it's own. USA never would have detonated a nuclear weapon unless it had help from a certain German physicist.

Uhh, America feeds 2/3 of the world on a daily basis...
America set a standard of freedom that has been followed by many countries...
America (helped) to end the NAZI Regime...
America has helped spawn and create many global businesses for the good of man...
America has won the Revolutionary War, even with all odds against us, proving us a militia power to this very day.
America assisted in creating a country in Africa.... Damnit, I foget that name...
America has become among the wealthiest nations in the world... (Yes you idiots, even with our huge deficit...)
And America puts up with you ungrateful bastards... Yeah, that's no easy task, there... In fact, I'm so used to being hated for just being American, when 90% is Bush's fault... And foreigners claiming to know how our country functions, when they don't know shit... I could go on all day about America's feats and accomplishments, which easily topple any other countries acheivements, (and yes, that is opinionated, hell, you could have told me that, you know every damn thing about this country, don't you?) however, I will end here so you can lust in your own ignorance, you ungrateful moron(s)...

Actually-- it was an African invention (via the United State's Black slaves), but it really caught on... Dr. George Washington Carver was just doing things something that was part of his heritage...
Actually, he didn't invent peanut butter as we yank children were taught in elementary school. But he did find several ways of using peanut butter... (like soup)

You know, its funny that most Americans that know so little about their country can list so many, when we're one of the top ten youngest countries on Earth. We have achieved more noteworthy things than most other countries have in their entire histories.
Hmm...how do you get to work? Or how do you get around town...what is almost the sole reason why this entire planet is dependant on oil? Well you have the Americans to thank for how cars are built and manufactured today. Because of a man named Henry Ford the world is not only more safe but is also more mobile.
Hmm...let's get away from everyday society...what would battle be without belt-fed guns, rocket propelled armaments, and state of the art airplanes? Bloodshed? Yes. Lives saved? Soldier-side and enemy-side? Most likely. And while you're at it, this man also revolutionized flight all together, if you want to fly between countries or cities, you have this American to thank. They just made a movie about him in fact, and the company he created (American made...who would have thought)...put one of the first sattelites into space and is the forefront of cancer research. Ah, that's right, does the name Howard Hughes ring a bell? American again...
Or how about a man named Franklin Delano Rosevelt...if you don't have him to thank, you really ought to re-evaluate your history lessons. The man broke foreign policy to save western civilization numerous times...and not only that but got involved in a war he didn't have to even touch and gave one of the most infamous men in history a run for his money against all odds while also fighting Hirohito and moving across Africa against Rommel.
Or how about the absolutely and irrefutably incredible men that made this country what it was? How about Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson? Do I even have to say anything about them? They basically stand upon their own achievements as far as I can see, like many men in American history.
Let's skip away from the people that made this country fantastic for a moment though, I could only list about a million. We have one of the most balanced and foolproof governmental systems on Earth, if not -the- most balanced. The fact that any man and woman anywhere can vote. The fact we have the permission in our very own constitution to keep our government in order through acts of force or acts of politics. We are the product of the corrupt governments of the world's history, and this is more or less the dream country of the men who fought for it. This country who you are so blatantly insulting, while its obviously your right to do so, had to endure years of bloodshed in numerous wars in order to become what we have and give you the permission to question it at all. We are the most priveleged country in the world and also the most politically active, also the most defended; you will never have to worry about being attacked on your own land, we are nearly unable to be invaded.
The real question is...what has the US not done right?...those things are the things there are enormous debates and political picketers and protestors out in arms about.
