I agree 110%. When I first signed up years ago, I signed up because I liked the constant overflow of offensive material that ran through here on a daily bases. It was one of few sights on the internet that honestly didn't give a fuck about anything or anybody, and the majority of the users felt the same way. But it wasn't just the flash portal, it was everywhere. Including the BBS. There where no boundries, anybody and everybody was fair game and the more "fucked up" your joke was, the better it was. So what happened? When did Newgrounds become a college English class?

What I really don't understand is why people support the change. Newgrounds is not the Disney channel. If you can't laugh at the London bombings, dead babies, or violent crimes usually invoving the genetals of one of more users on the site then leave. I don't think it fair at all that Newgrounds has to take a "family oriented" view on life because there has been a recent increase in 12 year old users who don't know how to enjoy themselfs without throwing a pissy fit and crying to the admins all day.

We all come here to enjoy ourself and having fun doesn't mean "acting like an adult" Everybody here tries to act like they're super maturity man but in all reality most of them are still in JR High and think farting in class in the funniest thing in the world. So why try to deny it here? And why incourange such an unfun environment from taking it's place? Is discussing quantim physics really the average newgrounds users idea of fun? I think not, but unfortunatly the users don't get to make that choice.

At least once a week there is a topic discussing how terrible the mods have become. How strickt they are with the rules, and how unfun the bbs is becomming. Is this not a sign that the average person is uhappy with the direction the site is going? So why does nobody speak up? Or better yet, why do the mods refuse to listen?

The fact is, most of the penis topics that get locked are 100% acceptable on the site. I had this conversation with the mods about 3 days ago. There is nothing, and I reapeat NOTHING in the rules that states we can't be gross. As long as you don't post graphic pictures you're ok. So why are the "penis" topics locked and the users who create/reply in them banned? Good question. If you click my sig, you can read the discussion I had. Not a single mod had anything intelligent to say. In the typical "we're giant tools" fashion, I was eventually banned and the topic was locked. Go figure. I wouldn't be suprised if the same fate befell this topic as well.

Hence my signature. Newgrounds will become censorship central if the users don't start speaking up. Fuck it... what's the worst that happens... they ban you? Big fucking deal, I've been banned 5 times in 3 months. Am I proud? Fuck yeah I am, maybe if one or two of us stop running in terror from the mods and start acting like we want on Newgrounds maybe more will follow. Maybe others who feel the same way will finally get the balls to stand up and start being the sick twisted fucks they where when I came here years ago. And maybe, just maybe, the mods will finally pull their head out of their ass and pay some fucking attention to us. Or maybe not, either way... I'm here to have fun. And fun includes being an immature shit head who laughs at farts, penises, and dead people. I will continue to be one regardless of how many bans I rack up.

Glad to hear somebody feels the same way. Even if Newgrounds does go completly to shit, at least there will be a few of us who go down fighting...

I think you take things a little too far sometimes but I do agree with what you're saying too. I think the mods do a fairly good job around here, better than I would expect and better than most places. My problem isn't with the mods though, it's more the overall attitude of the site, I don't blame the mods I blame the people who let stupid things offend them, especially on a site like this.

True, but the mods are the ones that set the standards. If they lock every topic that isn't 100% serious and "mature" then the users here have no choice but to follow suite and act in a serious fashion. After all, it's either that or the almight ban stick. The people like me and you now have no choice... we either stop being silly and offensive or we leave. The authority forces this type of mentallity on us, is it really fair to blame the users for something they have no control over?

On the other hand, maybe the users are to blame. Call me crazy, but the power lies with the people. I don't want to sound like I'm trying to start a revolution but lets face it, if the majority of us stoped existing on this site in fear of a pointless ban and started speaking our mind then maybe we could finally get somebody to pay some attention to us. If you want to make a penis topic, make one. So what if you get banned... when you come back, do it again. \

The fact is, if you're a regular here you're going to get banned eventually regardless of what you do. So you might as well do what you want and enjoy yourself while can... who knows, you might actually get some changes made while you're at it.

I agree with all of that, I remember when i signed up abit more than a year ago when every post in every topic gave me a good laugh. Now its hard to find those types of topics.

i pretty much disagree with everything that you said, but i don't feel like explaining myself right now. i'll just say that newgrounds has become more mature and maybe you just can't handle it. like it or not, people change. back then, newgrounds may have been about being immature and stuff, but nowadays it doesn't seem to be.

At first I thought you were crazy for calling NG mature. Because it ISN'T mature.

But the mods, etc etc try to make us think that there are some goofy pretenses of maturity that a bunch of obscene kids have no interest in.
