I know this has been done before but I want to put my two cents in on the topic. First of all let me say that I love what NG has become, it's by far the greatest site of it's kind and the community here is incredible. It seems that every day someone comes out with a new movie or game that just blows my mind and pushes the limits of flash even further. Newgrounds is the perfect showcase for people's hard work and they've filled this site with more excellent material than anyone could even dream of.

At the same time, however it feels like NG is getting too mature. I'm all for advances in artistic style and I obviously love technological advances around here but fuck is it too much to ask to have some fun around here anymore? I know that there are serious topics to be discussed on this BBS sometimes but if we can't make dick and fart jokes in stupid topics then what's the point?

I'm not talking about SPAM, that was an issue that had to be taken care of and I'm not bitching about the mods since they do a great job around here. The rules are all fair and should be followed but the fact is that the community itself is getting too uptight. What I'm complaining about is that noone seems to have a sense of humor anymore.

NG is about entertainment above all else and there is nothing the least bit entertaining about uptight jackasses who can't tell when someone is joking or being sarcastic. I remember how this place used to be when I signed up 2 months ago... you'd load up the main page and it would be a sensory overload, blasting music, a nun sucking off a taxi driver and links to games where you shot all the celebrities you hated in the face surrounded by ads for gay-sex and beastiality sites. It was raw, it was unrefined and it was fucking hilarious.

Newgrounds' content has only gotten better, artists are always pushing the envelope and it's reached places we never could have even dreamed of back then. But why have we given up that attitude that kept us coming here? Why can't anyone take a joke anymore? I want to see the art continue to advace here but fuck people you need to loosen up and have some fun or else this an even bigger waste of your time than it already is.

Let's keep the stupid jokes, the sarcasm and the pranks coming. Let's keep annoying users who take the internet too seriously and let's keep everyone entertained. Isn't that the point of this BBS? We're here to have fun so stop being so damn serious all the time.

That wasn't very long ago.

Anyway, I've been on NG for about 2 years now, and all I watched back then were the Sonic parodies. After that I got into the Windows emulators and the Scat section (I was really fucking immature). After that I got into the Clock Crew but I loved the anti clock movies just as much. Umm...that's all.

I agree but usually when you make a fart joke or something it's spam. And don't like Spam. So, the only time you'd be able to make that kind of joke is if the topic has to do with it.

I remember when I first signed up, I joined the BLAMclub... everything is pretty much the same, except for no BLAMclub ;_;

I read it all, I agree with you, a sense of humour is a liability on NG.

I first signed up at the age of 12, (yep, I'm naughty) and have since gotten bored at Newgrounds for the same reasons... I'm only a Level 9, but look at my sign up date... 08/23/03! I've quit coming to Newgrounds quite a few times, hell, I've even created two other accounts, and forgotten them, the most recent created July 14, 2005! But, I'm back to this old account, and I'm hoping I don't leave again for the same reason, because Newgrounds can be a blast... When people stop bitching and realize that if you can't take the heat, DON'T COME TO NEWGROUNDS.COM, DUMBASS!

See.. just look at the idiots responding here (I don't mean all of you and the ones who have been around NG for a while know who I mean) they come in here and make stupid responses that attack me but arn't funny at all. That's what the problem is, people still have the attitude problems that NG always had but noone is entertaining anymore, they just call people n00bs and make annoying topics on purpose.
