The Baseball Strike

okay, i want to hear y'alls opinion on this... i'm a big fan of baseball, but the strike coming up has me REALLY pissed at the players.

in our post 9/11 world, the economy has gotten a lot rougher... everyone is starting to have to watch their money more carefully, and many are in financial trouble.

so the very LAST thing i want to hear is that the millionaire assholes of our day (the athletes) want fucking MORE money.

people are wondering if this will be the end of MLB.. i don't think so, but i'll seriously think twice before buying a rockies ticket, or my usual yankees paraphanalia.

what does everyone here think?

I don't think they will go on strike because there are too many of the players e.g. A-Rod, Jeter, and Nomar who WANT to play, they don't want to go on strike.

Yeah I gotta say, bitch, cry, bitch...and then I keep hearing most of the players don't even agree with this strike...that it's the union that wants this stuff or something...then why don't you go tell the union to fuck off...and you start a new union...oh wait a minute...I fucking forgot! You can't do things like that when you're FUCKING LYING! My dad and me were gonna go to a yanks game in sept. (against the Socks) but with the uncertainty surrounding baseball right now...we're just heading to a wrestling event instead when one comes around...Most of these guys (especially Yankees) make a ridicoulous amount of money anyway...and they want more? Fuck off...unless it's going to charity (which it won't) then bite me...you make more than enough already.

I think it's a giant load of crock as well. These assholes want more money when people cant afford to go to many games because of the economy..where the hell do they think the extra money will come from? Raise ticket prices? Then less people will come to the games and they won't have any extra money, they will lose money.

i used to love baseball when i was little i would watch it with my dad all the time then there was the strike and my dad wont watch baseball anymore and i just started to this season if they strike again im probly done too....

I hate baseball. You know why? It barely has the right to be considered a sport. Most of the players are out of shape, shit you dont even need to be in good shape to play, all you have to do is hit a ball with a stick, throw a ball, and run in a circle. If you can do that, you can be in the major leagues.

THE MONEY FACTOR:

Baseball players make an average of about 2 million a year to do the simple things i described above. For example, my dad does a lot harder work by building houses, and he only makes about 45k a year. If everything was based around baseball he could be a billionaire.

INJURIES:

They can have a little claw scratch from a cat on their pinky and buy their way out for a month...using my dad as an example, he broke his arm and came back to working after a week.

i hate to break it to you but the majoraty of basball players are in great condition. It takes alot of work to be able to hit in the big leauges lot alone have the speed just to get to first. They arnt playing on a little leaug field. Alot of the guys run and train alot. I still think they are greedy bastards but to call them lazy is just mean they work hard for their money but i think they make enough already.
