An Increase In Ads?

Now since I'm a n00b, I might get ignored and a bunch of shit b/c I'm posting, but what the hell? All of you were n00bs at one time too. So, I address the BBS with this question:

Is it just me or has Newgrounds seen a dramatic increase in popups and ads lately? Every page on Newgrounds that I go to, at least 3 popups appear. And then those Flash advertisements. Fear dot com and the 311 one.
WHEN DID BANNERS SUDDENLY NOT BECOME ENOUGH!?!

I'm wondering if it was just me or not.

If anyone high up in NG hears this, try and do something about this latest explosion in ads and popups. It appears that it wasn't only me after all. Please do something about them so as to better the NG experience.

these ads are pissing me off, especially the one with the car thats not even in a window, it just takes up half the screen.

i would be willing to pay a monthly fee to be a member on newgrounds if it got rid of ALL ads: pop ups and banners.

Absoluyely, these ads are definately on the increase. I mean window ads are bitches but at least you can close them straight away, these new ones (Fear.com, stupid ass car one) you HAVE to open then shut them down, thats just taking the piss. As for the banners, I can cope with them because they don't get directly in the way and bring revenue to newgrounds to keep it running and free, but that banner for "Girlie Zoo" is just freaking me out, (Shudder) ergghh!

as 3 ads popped up when i clicked on reply i had a great game idea: pop-up killer. windows pop up with corny ads and you gotta shoot them. im too busy to make it right now so if someone else wants to they can go right ahead, just dont forget me in the credits.

Tom and Wade are allowing more ads to be shown on Newgrounds in order to piss us all off and have us go to them, asking for a resolution to this situation. And guess what they'll say:
A membership to NG that charges $10 a month! No ads, no bullshit.
And we will probably pay it too.

Now if thats true, then I'm ashamed that I'm a part of NG. But if it's just me rambling and bumbling on because I'm half-drunk, then forgive me. But the question still lingers:

My theory on ads is that if they piss you off, never ever use the product. I think so...hell this whole Clock shit I think is just an elaborate ploy to drum up attention...and yeah it would seem like these ads are definately a ploy to start a pay service...frankly I've been to sites that don't use so many pop under ads (which are the absolute worst) personally, if what you're saying does come to pass then I'm done with NG because jerking us around like that is just pure crap...been here since '99 and like a lot of folks have said the place has been in a downward spiral for the last year or so
