I've already looked at this thread about it, but I still don't know where I should start to learn it. Should I learn out of a book, or online through tutorials? If a book, which one (or ones).
I appriciate any help.

Defenatly Book, Any one can write a tutorial and put it on the web. Although tutorials will get you started, you will need a book eventualy. I recomend PHP & MySQL Web Development Seccond Eddition. It has good, real life examples. Very easy to learn.

Try to get the latest revision of any book you buy.
I feel that they forgot a few things in "PHP and mysql web devlopment", like the foreach loop. But overall it's a good book.

I used some eBooks, I don't think they really helped that much, tutorials done it for me , and my own b0rking around, then everything just falls into place
