whats a ACT file, and how do i open it?

they are for picture files. what would i need to open the actual file up?

For mugen... Um, you will need to search for a utility. I used to have one a while back but I forgot what it was...
Anyways, google is your friend.

ive tried google, downloaded some mugen character editors , but they dont work.
is there anyway to convert these mugen files in to a gif, so i can use them in flash?

From what I know of the format, no.

its a shame, cause there is some really nice images in mugen. infact i read somewhere that the mugen characters are first ripped from a emluator, then turned in to a GIF ....then the person creating them decides to turn them in to this un workable format..:(
why cant they release the gifs, and let the ppl covert them in to mugen files?

I'm surprised MUGEN isn't more popular. I used to be in it more, but then my harddrive died and I lost all my mods... It's not a bad emulator.
Wish I could help more, but most of the resources I had aren't there anymore.

yeah, i was trying to download it the other day, and half of the places where you can download it are gone. it is a little compilcated to download i thought, im sure its one of those "once you know how to do it , its easy" type programs. i could never add new characters, even if i did what teh "read me" document said, and editing charaters i can never do :(

It is/was an emulator? I got the impression it was a simulator of sorts. I found OpenMugen a couple of months ago... might be 'back in business' so to speak? Be good to see it develop further as I'm quite a fighter fan (even if I suck at all of them :-[ ).

^ that thing looks cool, i downloaded the trail, and it worked right away!

ive tried downloading some editing tools for mugen. but i cant get any to work, some wont open the chars so i can edit them. do you ppl know how to open the editing tools?

well i will try to rip the sprites, although i can not get the mame elumator to work for street fighter (which is the game im going to test out)
if i work it out, i will try and host the sprites somewhere ;)
