take note that most NG traffic is from outside, and that it gets about 600000 hits each day... 200 is not alot

I think very soon they will have to have a new collection: Collabrations!
not 200 per flash, 200 to open a new collection
just because you all agree with him in your replys it doesn't mean he is gonna like you !

I am 100% against that silly idea. Most collabs are from j00bie or the SS, which makes them suck a lot.
so, when will the new pages be launched anywho?

Let's see, they don't have to put EVERY collab in there, besides there are plenty of good ones.

They don't need to post suggestions anywhere. People will see how this all works out once the new pages kick in. There should be no reasons whatsoever to start posting suggestions in the forums.

That's the way it already works, although 200 is a bit steep.

I hope that is a joke... Times your figure by 10 and you would be closer.

Wait, wait, wait - I misread your post.
But what I said still stands for suggesting collections - there'll be something in place soon that allows users to suggest a collection that they think needs making.
Thanks for that Jim. I wouldn't be too stupid to mention a thing about collections or frontpage on my comments to my flashes, unless my flash will get into a collection.

Could this be the new "Vote 5"? :O
Hmm, well people will try and exploit ANYTHING free that is presented to them, such things happen but they'll only end up doing themselves bad.
I had no clue this was really an issue... I mean, the front page and collections are ultimately decided upon by the admins, correct? So why would it matter if a ton of people mass recommended something for front page/collections if you guys have the final say? I guess it would stop authors from putting that suggestion in their notes, but I don't see why that would still be a big deal. If their work speaks for itself, won't you still put it on the front page, regardless of how much they're pimping? Or are you saying that an author's insecurities overshadow their work?
so how is it if a cartoon series is good enough is there a way a we can start giving an author his own collection for his series???

While at the same time, people would be more motivated.
Lol, I get it, more work... just an idea I had.
I've thought about this too, and it would give people incentive, but I encountered the same problem you did when I ran it through my head. I did like the idea expressed that perhaps you put a point threshold on it. That would at least keep out absolute trash. Maybe tack on an explanation as to why it should be in a collection as well. But I think that for things to get really great there should be something a little more so people utilize the system.

Right.

It wouldn't matter a crap to anyone but the end user, who will look at the page and think, "That guy's a twat for telling us to recommend this submission to a collection - if I think it belongs in a collection, I'll recommend it on my own terms." And they won't suggest the entry for a collection, because instead of telling the end user what the submission is about, the author is instructing the end user to suggest their submission for a collection. It's the authors we're looking out for here and that was the point of my post.
What's an author supposed to do if they make a Flash that they believe fits into a certain collection...but nobody recommends it for that collection?

Ahhh, I see; your tone initially suggested it was the authors at whom you were upset, but I understand now. Thanks for the clarification.
sounds like everything going really well!
cool beans. now its time to buy flash!

I meant outside hits of people who are non related to NG and just "heard about it", but wow, 6M hits is alot! :)

so is that a reason not to agree with his ideas? I think the collection idea is a great one, and that it'll get NG alot more hits, becuase right now the games page is pretty lame (no offense)... with constant updates, NG will thrive even harder,
What happens if it's a new series?
How would you suggest a collection for it?
