As is my understanding, if you pay bail, it just means you don't have to sit in prison until your court date - it means you can go home and sort out stuff, get a lawyer, kiss loved ones, cry a little, watch some TV.
Then you go to court, and you still get punished, and whether or not you paid bail is irrelevant to how the judge punishes you.
