heres a thought...
dont u think that newgrounds should like make a cd with all of the music on the portal??
like every month all users could take a poll about the best stuff they heard... and at the end of the year ng adds up the answers to see who has the best scores??
just a thought...
There was this guy who started a thread about something like this..
He was going to do different CDs for different genres and sell them through his label at his local stores. All the AP artists who contribiuted would get the money, or something.
I don't think it ever went ahead though. Things are like that. They get planeed but never carried out.

I think it's hard anyway to try to produce a CD.
I mean, first you have to make good music, if you succeed in putting it at a CD and found some artist who wants you to make a cool album cover the last thing you have to do is going to a music company who wants to bring your CD out, that's the biggest problem of it.
Most of times, they only want to bring out bad music that a lot of people like for some unknown reason.
Although they bring out some really good music sometimes too..

There is these huge arse record labels who only distribute music because they know that the people like it already. They don't want to take risks in trying to get new stuff to the people just incase it fails and they lose money.
But then there is the smaller record labels who do it because they like it, there is bound to be other people who like it somewhere. Even if they are hard to find.
Also, a lot of artists do it independantly. Distribute it themselves, and keep all the profit. More fun imo, but still it takes a lot more effort to advertise.

OMFG XDDDD thats for sure the most stupid thing a doctor can ask.
Yeah I've read the whole story. You must feel pretty screwed. American health care must suck lol XD

well, the festival is over (Arvika Festivalen), and all in all, I've mixed about 20 bands, about half of them front of house, and monitor for the rest.
We started to build the stage tuesday, and it took us two days to get everything in order. Then, thursday, the actual festival started. Thursday and friday we mixed 14 hours straight, with a few breaks here and there only. Saturday was the same, but we tore down the whole stage and everything, so I ws back at my friends place around 6 in the morning.
I've learned shitloads when it coems to mixing live music, met alot of interesting people and had a really good time. Actaully it's the first time I'm on a festival in the first place.
I managed to take zero pictures, but in case anyone's interested to see what it looked like, I'¨m sure I can get hold of a few pics.
here is the myspace for the stage I was soundtech. for, and on there 21 of the 30 bands are represented with a song.
Man, mixing metal is da shit! :)

What in the world... who is this *New* Milkman I see...
Move over son... there is only room for one Milkman in These parts.
So Maestro... we have unfinished bussiness to attend to.
And as for the rest of you guys... I'm going to be reviewing like mad for the next little while, I can't wait to hear all you've come up with.

i'll try to gather a few pics then! :)
the page only have the music up really, not many reviews etc. is up. I read a few reviews from a few local newspapers though, and basicly noone have been complaining about the sound, wich is a good review in itself :)
Alot of the artists were greatful about the sound, and some thought it was very professionally made. I erally hope to get a few gigs/month and keep learning, it's really fun to mix live music, and one learns a whole lot instead of just messing around with virtual warez.

Nice one. I'll read around the page. But the player didn't load the first time, so I closed it in a non-angry anger.

Sounds fun, and good luck I guess with stuff or something. Like that.

Well, I wouldn't be *New* if regular old Milkman wasn't taken. Or I could have been MilkMan-Dan, but some idiot has that one ;)
But why must you be reviewing? Contest of sorts? I haven't been on for a while, because my computor was in a shop for about 3 months. Now, I bought myself a brand new computor with my own money... that means I am poor again, but now I can return to whatever it is I do on the internet...

in other news.. I am retiring for a while to work on my flash.. yes I have gotten so bored with music that I am ACTUALLY going back to making flash after 3 years..
knowing me tho thatll backlash and I'll make another song like.. next week or something.. but the idle periods have been getting too long and I think it may actually be for good this time..
and in the time that has passed I have realized that.. I have forgotten a shitload about actionscript, and programming in general. I feel sad.
Still I plan on finishing my series!
You know what that means rucklo - I need music again! :P

Music can be boring sometimes because "new" and "unique" ideas are quite rare now.
Also, hi everybody, I am back from mah awesome weekend =)

Has anyone made a song using only a washboard, steel drums, and a broken ukulele?
THAT would be unique.

Look back on previous pages. It's been said that he was deleted due to LOL BAN EVADE when there was no ban.
