Alright everyone, check this out. It has been raining like crazy and there is lightning and all that good stuff here in Texas (Or at least where I live) and that is the reason I have been gone.
Here is what happened...
I was just chillin and my computer was on just because I was listening to music.
Lightning hits, then thunder and the power goes out for a second or maybe even less than that and everything comes back on EXCEPT for my monitor...
So I didn't think anything of it at first until I tried to turn it on... It didn't work... So I unplugged it and did everything I could think of to try and get it to work, but all of this was in vain =(
So yeah, basically my monitor went out on my computer so I can't really get on much. Right now I am using my mom's laptop because she Isn't here so she obviously Isn't using it =P
I don't understand how it fucked up like that though because it was plugged into a surge protector or however you spell it so that just sucks ass >=(
Anyway if I am not on much lately, that is the reason why =(

Didn't Jesus go through enough crap already without having THIS to top it all off?

Sorry to hear about that - damn bitchy equipment...
In other news:
I feel so dirty...
I'm working on a project that requires little bits of music here and there to punctuate certain points. The main character is really cartoony and the script is full of really bad puns. There are instructions like "james bond type music" or "mission impossible like theme" or, one of my favorites so far, "some record scratching sound effects"
Since the client would prefer to avoid obtaining rights and since it's targeting a much older demographic, I've had to make these really awful little muzak, sound-alike clips of this and that.
I don't know if I'll ever be able to wash it off...
Yes my friends, I sold my soul to the corporate machine so very long ago. The work is sometimes unbearably lame but then again it pays pretty well...
I guess the moral of the story is - Never sell out!
(unless you decide that you need to pay your bills)

You know sleeping in the gutters is better then doing that.

Yeah, sort of. Actually it's more of a veiled motivational effort - The thinking is that if anyone out there reads anything that I write and decides to better themselves in an attempt to avoid ending up like me then it was all a success.
Then again there is another side of the coin. True, I chose to sacrifice certain aspects of "coolness" and creativity in my professional life but it is the means by which I am allowed to fund my personal interests.
So then - to sell out or not to?

Actually, you sacrificed doing what you want for doing what someone else wanted, that's the destructive part, it says so in your post.
A lot more at stake then coolness points and creative stars (which you have plenty of, ass).

Yep - but that doesn't necessarily invalidate anything else that I wrote - I made a choice to give up some things so that could satisfy other requirements. I have a great deal of freedom to make suggestions but what do you do when your working with someone whose tastes differ so greatly? I simply have to do what the clients want because ultimately they are the ones forking over the cash.
A lot more at stake then coolness points and creative stars...
True, true - things like not getting evicted, keeping food around for the kids, keeping the electricity on - those sorts of things come to mind.
Maybe what I'm getting at is that sometimes a pragmatic approach is necessary even though you may not be pleased as punch with it.

No, I get what you're trying to say.
The point is, you served someone.
I can understand you did it to survive, but there are necessarily other means. This is only under the circumstance you're passionate about your music.

Hmmm... what are some funny names you have up your sleeves? You know ones that sound like something funny, like the ones I made!
Al Co-Hall
Fucksin Anus (that's the worst one ever...)
Hue Gepenis
Hugh G. Rection
Harry Balsonya
ect...
Here's the story behind this post:
I was in the local computer gaming place, playing Counter Strike. There weren't very many people there, there was just me, two friends and some other guy. Because we were bored, we made funny names like the ones above. Everyone did, except for the other random guy. I told him he "has to make a funny name or GTFO" and this is basically what he said;
"Err what, you want to make something of this" I was laughing so hard, I could only reply ">:D ". I am actually still laughing at it. Hahaha!

Perhaps one day this will be just a stepping stone.
LJ, I hope to god, you can support yourself upon creativity alone one day.
Until then, I'd rather have you be a sellout and be here than not sell out and be in the gutter.
Or worse, back in the Corps. :D
Nah, I joke. But LJ, how much would it cost for some "Mission Impossible 'like'" music? :D

Ya know... all of the funny names that have sexual innuendo in them are great...
..Until you do tele-fundraising for the Republican party (as if that wasn't bad enough) and mis-pronounce some lady's name.
Like I did tonight.
It was Pinas.
I bet you can figure out the rest.
(I still think it is hilarious though)
