I came across a deal that i get a 360 for 200$ premium console with that game the guy who is giving it to me say's its a great game but im not a great fan of rpg's because they take so long to beat....

give me your thoughts i have until tommorow to buy it.

Who has PLAYED? Hell, I nearly rapped everything there is to do in that game!
The game is no where NEAR boring, because, not only can you beat the main quest, theres the fighters guild, mages guild, thieves guild, darkbrotherhood... hell, you can even become a knight!

Its a DAMN good time waster. I see no reason why not to buy it... unless you just don't like the Xbox.

Yo fellas,

Sorry if I'm interrupting the thread of this conversation, but if you'll allow it, I really have to be a whiny little girl for a few minutes. Please bear with me.

Is the only way to get feedback on this place to saturate another newgrounder with blind praise and then tell them to 'go check out my songs'. I've written so many reviews where I try to be a useful witness of the music, mixing praise with some more critical observations but the number of return reviews I get is negligible. In fact, I've judged that a few of these people turn around and mass zero vote my tracks without a second thought.

This is a bad system where we have to walk on egg-shells and can't possibly voice any constructive criticism for fear of having our work decimated. Bit late for me though.

Newgrounds audio portal has so many more hits (of both kinds) than other music sites I've been to, but the voting system lets it down which is so unfortunate...

Solution - place warnings around the place that votes of 2 or below will be tracked and viewed by an admin. If serial offenders are identified their IP's can be banned. This would take 5 minutes to program into the site. They are making a mockery of this place, which has the place to be a centre for music on the net. I've got a whole stack of ways it can be fixed, it would need some support from the programmers of the page though.

Forgive me if I'm going over old ground here, I'm not sure. But if so, why is the problem still here today?

Its the sad truth, but yeah. Thats the only way.

Yeah, thats about right.

The NG Evolution Thread would be a good place to post this.

Padman; Yeah, youre right about all this. Fast facts; this is a flash site, wich means they put the flash portal #1.
There will be a revamp, it has been mentioned in many occations. here are also many bright ideas for the audio section (not just portal/voting vice) and its possible they want to make all at once, i dont know... However the AP is a little space-stealer, and at the moment they are going to buy a new file system that will take care of some techniqual issues the AP have had so far. Nothing will be done before this, and no promises have been done that anything will happen directly after.
However, there WILL be a revamp, so just hang on tight and keep spa... i mean posting in here :D

Sounds good Rucklo, I'll be interested to see what happens.

Maybe they want to teach us how to cope with suffering though They might implement negative voting after the changes, where you vote on a scale from -5 to 5. And the numbers are written on lobsters that fly around the screen and you have to click the lobster that has the number you want. If you miss, all your songs get deleted and there's a latency of 400 ms for added fun and excitement. It will also lead to a new expression....'gettin lobstered'....

When I dream, -ZENON- is usually there. And i´m always stalking him with a hughe fish in my hand covered behind my back. Am I the only one who have these dreams? I feel a little unusual here... If anyone else experience the same, please say so, I don´t want to be different and bullied, I mean... :(

Probably... Yeah... I don't know - so what's the problem, you're not getting enough feedback? I think the main problem here is that NG isn't a dedicated audio site so there are only 5 or 6 people that even really give a shit about the AP right now.

If you want more feedback then you really should consider postinf a few tracks to an audio site - there are a ton of 'em.

The downside is that people tend to get a little more competitive on those sites and the reviews that you will get are probably going to be much harsher than the soft and fuzzy NGAP reviews. As long as you can take a small ego beating then you'll be fine.

My advice - don't waste any more of your time pandering or stroking anyones ego here - I'll borrow a line from "Waiting" because it's funny and it really fits the AP/AF mindset. Being the 'king of the AP' .. "is not something to be proud about. It's like being the smartest kid with Down's Syndrome"

a few of these people turn around and mass zero vote my tracks

Yep - cuz they have nothing better to do and know that there really isn't going to be any action taken against them... But there really is no solution is sight...

This is a bad system where we have to walk on egg-shells and can't possibly
voice any constructive criticism for fear of having our work decimated.

Absolutely correct - and in order to perceive any change you need to remove something from the equation. Since you cannot do anything about other peoples actions then you should change the only thing that you are in control of - lose the "fear" and you'll be liberated. Who cares is someone shreds your work here - or votes zero - or says that you suck - or whatever other stupid thing that they do.

Are you happy with your work? I know that getting critical feedback, while sometimes painful, can sometimes help quite substantially - and I suspect that's really all that you're probably looking for. You may or may not get it here - you may also need to bother with posting to the AF here and there to gain the trust and possibly respect of some of the regulars who may not be as worried about retaliation - then you may get a little honest feedback.

Shite... I don't know....

Solution - place warnings around the place that votes of 2 or below
will be tracked and viewed by an admin.

Yeah, sure... as it is there are way too many stolen/infringing songs posted that aren't removed ... I don't, in any way, represent or pretend to know what's on the minds of any NG staff or affiliates but I can almost guarantee you that tracking down and investigating half of all votes is not on the list of things that the admins are itching to do.

If serial offenders are identified their IP's can be banned.
They are making a mockery of this place...

Same comments - "offenders"? who decides who is offensive? a tribunal? a special panel of elite?

Again I go back to the internal struggle - it's not that "they" are making a mockery of anything - it may just be that you are taking it all a little too seriously.

Don't sweat the little shit...

Forgive me if I'm going over old ground here, I'm not sure.
But if so, why is the problem still here today?

Yep - all very old ground, this horse has been dead for quite some time. The reason for the problems still here? Well, with any new "solution" a whole host of new problems are also created...

Maybe we'll see you around more often.. maybe not - either way, hang in there and do your thing. Don't try to make anyone else happy and certainly don't bend, twist, push, pull or break anything to try to conform to anyone else's standards or ideas about "good" music.

Oh yeah - you're still readin? Damn man... I'm writing it and I fell asleep over half an hour ago - I can only imagine how boring it's been for you...

I was thinking it would be more like a psychological deterrent. If people are aware that their voting COULD be scrutinised by someone who can tie them up and flog them with Rucklos clandestine fish.

Anyway, thats one mighty post LJCoffee! Your brain is robust..Can I borrow it for my exams? I was making music when I should have been reading the textbook.

Only three days? try 12 months and feel fkd :S

Anyway, just try to expand your horizon a lil, listen to something you never would, read some poetry, makea a painting... or the total opposite, do something totally un-creative, like press on a light-button on/off for an hour or two.. If it breaks, then you go and buy a new one, and TADAAA yo´ll get some creativity from your little trip to the store. Maybe.

u catch my drift? DO something... says the guy with the 12 month´s creativity-bloxk >:(

1: Listen to music you wouldn't normally. If you hate rap, listen to rap. If you hate country, listen to country. Just make sure the stuff you listen to isnt stuff that is so simple you can make it in your sleep, just hard enough. Simple music = bad-like.

2: Take a rest, don't touch a music maker, until you get the uncontrollable urge to make music again. Then you'll be making good music in no time :)

interesting.

I've broken three switches, and smashed up some wood good and proper... now I just have a blood lust that cannot be satasfied (what a surprise the neighbors have on their front door... poor kitty.)

I guess i'l go back to my novel, see if I can actually wrap it up.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Here's hoping it works.
