?NI not usually worth it? I don't know Nav, some of NI's stuff is a bit pricey but there are plenty of titles that I think are very much worth the money. You mentioned Reaktor and I agree - awesome pile of bits there, but Kontakt, Massive and Absynth also come to mind...

Not that any of it really matters - especially when we're talking about VST's - hell, there are plenty of freeware VST's that come damn close (and in a few cases rival) a lot of the pay titles.

While I'm on the subject, anyone else pick up the latest "Computer Music" special? If you haven't, you should - another one of those 100 best freeware titles of the year things... There's a ton of good (and free) stuff in there - Synths, Drums, Samplers, Emulators, Sequencers, Effect and all of that.

I fell in love with "calypso (fixed)" for a while. It's funny, because I didn't really like it when I first heard it. His beasty boys remix's are fun. He did intergalactic and just blaze. Test drive was his first reason song I think, so it's a must. Brutal is short and sweet. Salvation Eternal is pretty epic. Spoken death has a fun vocoding thingy that sounds awesome...
