It's one of the best flashes here submitted on NG
How can you say that? It's a portfolio piece, highlighting what each author can do, nothing more. There is no meaning in it, because it's a bunch of characters singing in a white space. The lip sync and some of the drawn characters are about the only thing that this flash has to offer. I know this because the exact same graphics are repeated in the last half (no singing in music, but they are still singing). This cartoon is a good example of good talent racing ahead of an idea.
If it truly wanted to create a sense of collaboration, wouldn't you think that all of the characters would be shown in one shot, rather than each of them separated with a name by it. The only union that is made clear is that they all have a chance to sing, and it being the same song, mostly with a white background. Maybe if the microphone was passed to another singer, it would show us a sense of community, sharing the spotlight. But it wasn't made that way, it was made as a portfolio piece, each author with their name next to (I assume) what they drew. All separate shots! Great drawings, little sense of direction.
Anyone agree with me?
