audio pet peeves...?

My audio pet peeve is... when musicians DON'T respond to their reviews. You see tons of reviews for a guy and he doesnt even bother to respond. I find it insulting myself. And I think others do too.. it makes you not wanna review any more of his songs...

me personally.. I check my reviews every day.. and respond to every single god damn one of them! Thats right, every single one of them.

I also peeve against people to advertise their song in EVERY THREAD THEY GO TO

i mean ya its fine in the audio advertisements one but please, keep it there, or stick it in your advertising space.

another pet peeve - why are there no GIRL musicians on this site?!? I have yet to see ONE!

The thing that annoy's me is when I find a good song and it hardly has any reviews/DL theres so much good content here but no one ever listens to it

But for the audio portal there are a lot more positive things than negatives so well Im happy with the way it is..... it just needs a few minor ajusments...

Wellll, by a strange coincidence, I'm currently catching up on my audio reviews as I desperately attempt to clear the Audio pending list before I get drowned in a sea of Document contains no data alerts (and dinner).

PiePie they're call Commas , they help to distinguish one sentence and meaning from the other.

The problem with audio responding for me is being able to say something nice in return without being unoriginal, its like writing fortune cookies.

That doesn't mean to say you should go around saying how much you want to be a mod. You're not doing yourself any favours at all by doing that.

I agree with that, I was looking through other threads and I noticed that they repeated the advertisements that belonged in the Audio Ad. thread (such as in Audio Joint, I saw various artists that had just copied and pasted their advertisements from Audio Ads. to Audio Joint.) What's the point of the Audio Advertisement thread if you do this? That pissed me off somewhat.

I don't mind some authors that have about a billion reviews not responding to all of theirs, but I also respond to all of mine almost as soon as I get them.

Starting right now I'm going to take Erkie's advice and try to make no spelling mistakes because not only does it dumb me down, people think I'm a slob, and I have to practice for my english exams because I'm failing that class.

To Pink_Floyd about the audio joint ads I know what you mean, it makes me comtemplate in why people do this.

An other thing that annoy's me is when people give you a low review mark in like effort and diversity and stuff but then they give you high marks on origanlity when its a remix? I mean wtf

The reviews are there to help the authors improve. There's no obligation on their part to respond. It would be polite of them to, but some of them probably don't even frequent the AP that much. I have reviews over a year old that I haven't respomded to (though I intend to catch up on responding); the fact that I haven't responded doesn't mean I don't appreciate the reviews I've been given.

What you have to remember is that the Audio Portal is PRIMARILY a place for Flash authors to get some copyright-free samples for their work. In that sense, the Audio artists are giving their work freely, no strings attached, and that SHOULD be enough. Getting annoyed because they can't spare the time to respond to your reviews is pointless and selfish - don't get hung up on it. If you don't feel that an author's work deserves a review, then simply don't review it; if you DO review it, you should be reviewing with the aim of helping the musician in question improve his work. Expecting a definite response to your review is just setting yourself up for disappointment.

Ok, not EVERYONE has enough time on their hands to respond to every single thing.
And I'm not the kind of person who goes "Thanks for the review." as it really serves no good, really won't leave an impression on anyone.
Even though you really like to respond, not everyone will always have a response for the comments at hand. I recieve extremely many people asking "what programs are you using"--and I answer to some.
And I believe that to be enough, as if they were REALLY interested, they'd see it themselves through my places where I've previously stated so.

I agree, though I've been advertising my music for people who's in need of orchestrated music for their flash movies, I see that is in an entire other context.

There is, among other people one named "SmartPoetic"---She's rarely on the forums but has one more than one occation been so.
She's probably among the best of the portal---so it's irritating to see her so underrated.

my pet peave(and im gunna get bitched at so much for this) is when people call themselves musicians, yet they dont play an instrument in thier songs. instead, they use fl or something similar to creat everything, and then have th audacity to call themselves musicians, when they did nothing except for click on some little buttons, and maybe type a little bit.
