I just read the first two paragraphs, basically up to "mindless pop culture not being as mindless as we thought" THis is because instead of us all being the average family of 4 going to church every day and just doing what everyone else is doing, we've become a bunch of weird fucked up things.

ALthough all the adults from the generation of everyone being the same think our individuality is just weird and mindless adoloesentness and teen stupidity that is rotting our brains, they only think that because they grew up in a blander world. What's really happening is we are not directly getting smarter from our new and diverse generation, but we have much more individuality and difference in outlooks on the world, so instead of every single person thinking in the same basic way, we all focus on certain view points and find out more of it, and then we piece it together to have more knowledge on the whole view point of the world. I'm not saying our generation was the jump in this, in fact our parents were in that phase, but we just did it more. However because they weren't as diverse as us, they still find us weird. But don't you think your grandparents find you weirder? They can't keep up with shit, but our parents could at least follow along a bit on us.
