Lovecraft Film Festival May. 31st, 2005 @ 05:42 PM Reply

Attention European NG fans - Alien Hominid was released on Friday, May 27th for the PS2 and XBOX in Europe, Australia and New Zealand! Go grab a copy!

In other news:

The Lovecraft Film Festival, in conjunction with Newgrounds.com, announces its first amateur flash contest!

Ever watched a Lovecraftian short and thought, "I could do that?" Well here is your chance to prove it. The Lovecraft film festival announces its first ever, flash animation contest. Entries should fall into one of the two following categories.

1) Festival Openers - Short, Lovecraft-themed animations that feature the Film Festival logo.
2) Original Animations - H. P. Lovecraft-themed animations of any length.

Judging will be done by festival staff and winning entries will be shown at the festival (Oct. 7-9). In addition to seeing your flash on the big screen there are the following prizes.

1st prize - A DVD from the H P Lovecraft collection + a festival t-shirt
2nd prize - Re-animator CD + festival t-shirt
3rd prize - Festival t-shirt

All three prize winners, as well as any runners up will have their film shown on the big screen at the festival AND will receive a copy of the festival program listing their film. Deadline for entries is July 1st, which will allow time for judging prior to final selection of films for the festival.

Entries should be made by submitting content to the Newgrounds.com flash portal. The titles of the films should begin with "HPLF", which will designate them as a contest entry.

More info on the festival itself may be found at http://www.hplfilmfestival.com/submissions.htm

It's a great chance to get your work showcased at a festival in front of a large audience. Not too shabby on the resume, either!

This is the game JohnnyUtah and I have been working on.

Yeah, I ordered my copy of AH, it should be coming tomorrow. You didn't give much press for us PAL users. I'm surprised if anyone remembered, I know I forgot the release date.

Hehe... Sounds like fun, in any event.

I have a feeling that a lot of people who wish they could do this have to artisitic talent whatsoever...*cough*...but this will arise an awarness for a great author. This is a great idea, but there will tons of people trying to make macabre creatures that just plain look retarded. Im looking forward to the art by the winners, maybe someone will do one of my fav stories...Rats in the Wall would be a great choice.

Hey i know this is a little "off subject" but i'd just like to say I was watching G4 and they were talking about how Alien Hominid is a great game that arose from just a simple flash game.

Tom, much as I appreciate Cutethulhu being put on the front page after so long, and despite my note in the description field, many people are claiming I've resubmitted an old work and are thus leaving unfair reviews. Can you change the description of the front page link to mention it's an oldie, and not resubmitted?
