It's funny - us Brits are concerned it'll lead to a Europe governed by Germans. The French rejected the EU Constitution as the idea was "too English." So the Dutch'll probably call it blatantly Greek or something.
Besides, the rejections are based not on the contents of the Constitution or anything like that, but self-interest. For example, in Holland there was a huge rate of inflation when the Euro came in because the Guilder came in too low, so they'll vote against it for that. France because of the possibility of Turkey joining the EU and worries over migrant workers (which I was led to believe all flocked directly to the UK).
By this token, Greece would reject it due to Turkey's entry (the whole 300 year occupation by the Ottoman Empire still hurts, apparently), England because we'd all have to speak French and eat snails, and Russia because...well, they're miserable bastards.

Hah, excellent. Im confused now the French have voted no. I usually try to piss the French off. So should the British be voting yes just to oppose the French?

The Netherlands voted 'no', too.

This is excellent! Two key members of the EU have already rejected the constitution. I think it's a clear message that the Europeans don't want to be too unified, or at least, not like this.

The biggets problem with the EU constitution, if you ask me, is that its not realy a constitution.
A constitution is short, concise, to the point and only specifying some key aspects of the law, laving all non major issues aside. but the european constitutionwis like 96 pounds of paper...

Replace "France" with "Athens" and you have the very attitude of Sulla as his troops tore down and built siege weapons from the trees in the park where Plato and Aristotle taught. The Athenians were so proud and arrogant, they remembered when they were an empire, and believed their culture was far above that of Rome(which it was) or the other Greek cities to deal with them. And look what it got them? the works of art they were most proud of were put to the torch or carried of piece by piece to Italy.

Considering their voting system is about as corrupt as the British or American ones, they'lll probably have a vote as well.
Oh, and remember one thing, just in case of triumphalistic, yet inaccurate, reporting:
"Nee" is Dutch for "No."
"Ne" is Greek for "Yes."

WTF! like i said, Russia isn't part of the European Union. That means that that constitution has nothing to do with them, that there are no Russian people in the EU parlemant ect. So, the Russians won't vote! That would be like Cuba voting for the next American president!

God! Since when did sarcasm become so complicated for some people?!? I thought this board was set up to make cheap jokes at the expense of the Russian voting system, Communism and the French...

We already are fenrus. DO you mean you don't want the U.K and Eire to become amalgamated into a giant European State and loose identity? That's unlikely to happen, but some did vote Non or Nee for that reason, but the French mostly voted Non just to strike out against the government, There isn't anything in the COnstitution anyway, its mainly forming the old treaties into one solid form like the Commandments and with a couple of new things thrown in.

yeah but that's my horrible vision of the future. China and North Korea will square off against america and lose. The chinese and the North Koreans will be utterly destroyed but the Americans Will be so weakened that terrorists, canadiens, mexicans and anyone else that has a problem with the us will invade it and the us will fall. After that the world will be plunged into a 3rd dark age except for europe. The EU will then become an empire and take over alot of countries due to thier weakness. The one shimmering piece of hope will be the UK and Ireland. The will solve thier differences and hold out against the Eu.
all theory of course.

Very.... Theoretical, although America invading Europe I must admit has been hovering in the forefront of my mind. It won't be beyond the Administration to make up a lie to invade Europe.

Why? There are only four countries that don't follow the US in everything they do: France, Belgium, Germany and Spain (since Zapatero got elected). And even these countries are members of the NATO. And assuming you are British, I really wouldn't worry about an American invasion - I can't remember the British government disagreeing with the US gov't about... anything.
