Music should come from your heart,,,, I think music is a way of expressing feelings..
to make a song, I would start with the music. just muck around on what ever instrument u play till you come up with a riff that u like then work from there... lyrics alway's come second... in my opinion anyway, but sometimes I even break that rule
so just chill out and play with your heart, listen to lot's of music that u like 2 beacuase it will inspire you

U need to get yourself some music making software, such as Fruity Loops, (which should be relatively easy to aquire if u have a shareware program) and just start messing with it. The thing is with any creative subject is that u have to invest time and effort into becoming profficient with the tools that allow u to create. First of all, think what sort of music u want to make, who would u like to emulate? Then u have to discover what equipment/software/hardware will help u achieve the results u are looking for.
For anyone who is new to making music I think something like Fruity Loops is ideal, because it's easy to pick up and also very diverse. It gives u a good grounding in general techniques. I've heard many a good trk that has been created solely with that program, and the more competent u get with it the better the results. Just listen to some DJRunaway stuff.
