Dude, your friend is the biggest retard on earth. Basically, he's saying Gundams look like Spike from Cowboy Bebop. But, some people say One Piece characters look slightly like Rave Master characters. In my opinion, they do.

Well, some similarities are inavoidable, aren't they? Though some are on purpose, such as Eggman's giant Robot in Sonic X Episode 13 resembling an old 1970s Robot known as Mazinger Z.

Some series make references with others, such as the Gundam Freaks in GTO making Gundam references throughout their filming-time. XD

I think anime shows have a lot better stories that develop over the series, where as western animation all seems to be episode based. Watching a good anime is like reading a novel instead of a comic book.

Thanks to the Super Robot Wars series of games, I can see my old favourites like the Getta Robo Series, Daimos, GaoGaiGar as well as the famous Gundam series under one game. And I got to love those Banpresto originals, especially from the Alpha timeline.

I'm looking for Megazone 23 DVDs at the moment, I don't seem to find them anywhere nowadays...

Dr. Slump, Dragon Ball Series (Excluding GT) as well as Neko-Majin Z (A paordy)... And he's doing art for Dragon Quest series obviously.

It really depends how skilled the artist is.

Though it is true that some styles are harder to learn than others, what matters is how well styles are applied and used.
