If anyone has a few minutes to spare I'd like to know if I should start putting my songs in Industrial or something...
I don't have much hard knowledge on what my music should be put under...Because I've never really heard anything that sounded like my music that I knew which chadegory it was under....
Whatever..

well it depends because if you put them in the wrong genre then you get voted down and stuff like that.
Do what ever you think is best.

Yes its very hard to know which genre to upload to sometimes - and which genre would appreciate your song more - sometimes ill submit a song to 2 different genres - and surpisingly its the "other" genre that it usually does better in!
so ya you just kinda have to fiddle around a bit..

Yup, that's exactly what I was thinking. That and not as many people will listen, either.
DO you guys think my music is more Industrial? Or is that too, uh, hardcore (?) or hwhat? I donno about genres, that's kinda what I was asking about.

Hahaha you sound just like me erkie - except replace underdog and industrial with something like "god (j/k) or observer", and "vg".. hehehe..
I usu give new ppl in my genre that line in reviews.

Mr Scruff ain't too bad. I think he needs work on his samples, he seems a little desperate from the other Ninja Tune Artists.

Yeah that's what I do. Seems more friendly there too, haha. And you can't go wrong!
I just put my newest song in industrial and I voted 5 on it (meh). I suppose it's been voted 0 a couple times. I havn't had a problem with anything like that before. I have a high batting average on my other songs but that's just becasue not too many people have voted on it...

What song was it?

A room with a red light on? Don't know what that means, haha...at all. I'm gonna find that out..I'll chek out you and those other artists out...Mwahahaha.
....What genre would you consider my music? I still don't really know...bastards keep talking:
BLAH BLAH BLAH WROTE BLAH BLAH BLAH at "The end of time" P.M.

BLAH FUCKING BLAH FUCKING GOD DAMN BLAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What does any of that bullshit have to do with anything? I'm about to metaphorically beat the shit out you bastards.
Damn you guys...You chit chatting on the side having no relevence to the topic is...very annoying to say the least... goto a chat room or something. It's really irritating to have to scroll all over the place to get a relevent reply.

I would keep on putting your stuff in Misc until they add a couple more categories to the portal. I would say your music falls into the electronica/experimental categories.

You've reviewed a few of my songs =). I would think you've heard more than one.
I always thought Industrial was long for Indie music.....Indie is like...guitars and such right? Industrial is like...crazy ass electronic music or something?

New Wave is applied indiscriminately to punkish sounding music that doesn't really embrace the loud-fast ethos... =)
Ok I admit..I pulled that out of my ass.
Heres a link about New Wave that I found because I wanted to find out too. Wikipedia is pretty damn cool!
Heres some readingabout SKA music
I also found what I was looking for about Industrial music
