Alright, so I know I've posted before about being a boyscout... and I've had people diss me and defend me... if you're not into the boyscout thing, that's cool. But I don't want a buncha crap like "scouts are asses, they don't like gays"... if you think like that, your just being ignorant. Eaither way, there are already topics about that, so go there if you wanna make fun of us.
What I wanna let you guys know of is a very cool thing in my life right now. and scout knows that this year is the year of jamboree, the one scout event that gathers ALL the scounts from all over the country (and world) for one campout. It's a weeklong event, that only happens every 4 years, so most guys only have one chance to go while still a scout. Of course... it's like $2,000.00 for the entire event. So I wasn't gonna go...
But........ A little while back I heard that they need 5 scouts to be actors at the event. If quilifyed, you get a full paid schollership to the jamboree. So along with my friend Tom, who is also a actor friend of mine and in my troop, we sent in tapes and resumes hoping to be chosen for one of the 5 slots. Well guess what? Tom made it to be one of the 5! Which means he's goin' to jamboree, to perform in front of 3,000 kids from all over! The specail effects on stage are going to be amazing too. Lava flowing across the stage, a snowstorm and mountian climbing. It's crazy.
Sadly... I was not chossen to be one of the 5 main roles in the mini-show that is being performed at the opening of the jamboree... But... I still get the full paid schollership! They asked me to be an understudy, incase one of the 5 get dead or something. Not only am I understudying... I'll anounce at the event, Interveiw scouts for a video, play surporting roles in the show that Tom is in, and MC part of the event...
And get this... I MIGHT even have the chance... To Introduce at the event... The President of The United States!!! How's that for big news? That's a big maybe, but I'll at least get meet him (that is, as long as he's there... you never know if plans change, but it's a big thing on his list of to-be's)... certian celebs and stuff might show up too.
So that's what I'm looking forward too. It's gonna be great. The stage is gonna be sweet too, lazor shows and all, decked out sir. It's gonna be wild.
