Need help with everquest!

my everquest(runes of kunark, 12$:-)) really bug on my computer! When i connect and that im online with aol(because i have aol), it opens the update window and says:

EverQuest file update failed. If the problem persists, contact your network administrator or internet service provider for assistance.

If this is your first time playing EverQuest, refer to "Troubleshooting Your Connection" in "EverQuest_Manual.txt"in your EverQuest folder.
but there is no "troubleshooting your connection" in the manual.txt.
If im not online it says that there is not the correct data on the update server. Can anyone help so i could play?

turn off firewall or disable any proxies and try again.
if else fails call the support line.

everquest doesnt work to well with AOL anymore, cause i had a similar problem. Get road runner, its better and from the same company.

Speaking as one who once played Everquest for two years, I gotta say unless you have a broadband connection, don't even waste your time. The game is graphicly intense and with the common packet loss issues Sony Online Entertainment (S.O.E.) have, you may want to reconsider.

The problem itslef is that the patching program doesn't seem to be connecting to the patch server, as that is the same message you will get when you try to connect to the game if you're not connected to the internet. Now that you've diagnosed where the problem is and isn't, you've got to decide your own course of action.

hum... aol isnt the problem... now i have sympatico(modem/cable) and its the same thing...:
