I agree with you. Mario Sunshine was a dumb idea. Mario Party is pretty cool though.

You do realize the\at they are making remakes but changing only a few things. Windwaker was the Ocorina of Time only withan ocean. And he finds the master sowrd so many times that there should be a Master Sowrd Fan Club. There probbally is too.

...that's the response I get almost every time I say that Nintendo is cool.
what the fuck are you guys talking about nintendo in decline? real gamers like old time nintendo games like 2d mario wich req a shit load of skill if you wanna do alot of points i mean damn all the new games dont even have points wtf?!?!?!??!?
Nintendo will be around for a long time to come. It has been around since 1889!!!! (They used to make cards with flowers on them for a while...). That is right 1889. I am not mistyping that 1889.
This entire thread is a matter of opinion! Taking a look at both sides, they both have good arguments.
The Nintendo-is-in-decliner's: They're running out of material, which is true. Legend of Zelda games and Mario games have their appeal for only so long.
The No-its-not-shut-upers: Nintendo will live forever because of their landmark game characters like Link and Mario, which is a good point.

I remember thinking that about Sega :(
I think they suffered a lot when Microsoft bought Rare, because , besides Nintendo thmeself, who makes excellent games only for the Gamecube. But I buy consoles for games, if I want to surf the net I go to my PC, not my console.
I have an Xbox, and will probably get the 360 with a hard drive. Because Microsoft has the power and the money to people companies like Rare to make kickass games for their consoles. And they are technically brilliant. But I have always liked Nintendo and will never buy a Sony console.
But, death. I don't think Nintendo will ever arrive at that. I mean the GBA and Gameboy and Gameboy Colour all sold millions. And don't forget the Pokemon games on them. So they have more money then people think they do, I think

Wow your first post was in my topic. I am truly honored. i just want to know why do you think that points make the game any better. Not that points are a bad thing. I don't even care if the game has points or not.
Nintendo will never die out...
its a fact :)
You do not understand. Gamecube won't go bankrupt. Even though you may say X-box or ps2 is better, gamecube is like a legend.

thats why it has a bunch of rated Teen and Mature games... yeah im pretty sure its not just for 2-8 year old children
The only problem is, Nintendo has made some stupid mistakes. If you may or may not know nintendo helped sony (a third-party company back then) create the playstation, but backed out at the last minute. If nintendo has went throught with it Sony would be bought out by nintendo and sony wouldn't exist. Nintendo also keeps remaking games ( mario party ). Now i still am a gamecube owner and nintendo lover but i am just saying that if nintedo stratigized all of thier plans, such as waiting for the other companies to relase their constales then makes a few upgrades to the revoultion and comes out roaring for competion
Nintendo's main business is certainly not consoles. They produce a wide range of children's toys , Slot machines , Mini arcade games and children's rides. They license their characters to be used in several avertisements. They created a few comic books which are extremely popular amoungst children. They even make some candys which are quite popular. Nintendo will not be going out of business any time soon.
they will make it until 2059 as foretold in the "Decline of Video Gaming"
What!? Where did you get this information from? Is this true?
...
As long as Mario, Link, Samus, and that basturd Pikachu still breath then I don't think nintindo will be going anywere for awhile.

Sega is still living on. They may be struggling, but they still make pretty good games.
The problem with Nintendo is they don't go online like x-box and ps2/ps3 so they aren't as disered..........but you don't see to many ppl looking for a ps1 but that different with nintendo.
I'm with you i love the dreamcast but I guess no one else did, its graphics were better than ps2 and those memorie cards/controllers were sweet.

That's right, I remembered when Pokemon was popular, almost EVERY kid had a Gameboy Color and Pokemon game. Believe it or not, Pokemon is still pretty popular; it wasn't as popular as its prime time, but the games still sell amazingly well. Also, the DS was a success in sales.
Nintendo has made some mistakes before, such as the Virtual Boy, but Nintendo learns from their mistakes. That is why I think Nintendo will live on.

They can only make so many Mario games. And with the Ps3 and Xbox360 things aren't looking good. Sony has music and Microsoft has PCs. Nintendo has only games.
And the PSP is a good rival for the DS.
Don't get me wrong I like Nintendo. I still have my Super Nintendo console. But I'm just saying.
Dont worry, no matter what they can always pull a Madden, create a game that looks the same for a multiple amount of years, adding a small but snazzy little feature to each game. But even those types of games have an end...I think.
after seeingthis I think that the 'revolution' will be, well ,revolutionary or Virtual Boy all over again. I think Nintendo is declining but its still very much alive!!!

Pokemon was a very addicting game. I think that they are all stupid but I can't stop playing the game. Nintendo has games with really good gameplay and that is why it still stands.

It's quite true that Nintendo learns from their mistakes. I still have yet to see anything as horrible as the Virtual Boy. But if that's too long ago for some people to remember, just compare GC and Revolution. The GC didn't feature online play, but the Revolution will. People said the GC was too immature for the serious gamer, so now they're trying to make the Revolution appeal to a wider audience. The GC was also released later than the others, and while 360 is most likely going to be the first of the next-gen consoles out this time, Nintendo won't be far behind (or so I've heard).
Also, there's a reason games are remade so often. It's because people like them. Super Mario Brothers 3 was the best-selling game of all time (not sure if it still is) so naturally they're going to make more Mario games. And while I don't believe we need a new Mario Party game evey year or a Mario game about basically every sport in existence, it's still a good thing to make sequels to what the people like. Why go out on a limb when you already know what people are going to buy, young or old?
I would also like to address a couple more points brought up in this topic:
1. Grand Theft Auto and Gran Turismo are not crappy series. As I said before, they make lots of sequels because people love the games, and you know these have to be well-made if so many people are buying them.
2. Wind Waker was absolutely not Ocarina of Time with and ocean added. Not only were the storylines completely different, the only similar characters between the two were Link, Zelda, The Deku Tree, and Ganondorf, who are in pretty much every game anyway. And because the ocean is in WW, that makes the game world extremely larger and more open-ended. There are many more sidequests in WW as well. And in OoT, you don't spend any real time at all collecting the Triforce, where in WW, it was a large part of the game, much like it was in some of the classic versions.
Need I go on?
Dude. Nintendo's been going down the tubes ever since wind waker came out.
I'm not too proud of them for using Gay Charlotte in one of their ads. I'm just waiting for the new Zelda.
