Are you bringing a laptop or PC up to university with you? You might be able to use the monitor to display your games. I'm not sure how you'd go about this, although I think you need the VGA Cable and a VGA In port on your machine.

I'm not sure how to set it up, but I know it can be done. I'm assuming you know what a VGA In port is, seeing as you've got a link to the Computer Construction Club in your sig.

I happen to know he's just invested in a mac so he's a little fucked. They don't like much.

But yeah, I for example have my desktop and my 360 up at uni, both with cables going into the same monitor.

You might still be able to use a Mac for the job. It involves buying a capture card, composite cables, and the rest of the stuff you need to do it. There's a capture card that is made for Mac OS X, called the 'EyeTV'. No idea how much they cost, but whatever. Basically, instead of recording footage from your games, you can simply sit down at the monitor. I believe you need to have a TV set up with it to work, but the TV does not have to be on. I know that's pretty pointless now, but it can be done.

Maybe your Mac has a VGA In port on it as it is? If you're lucky, you might not to do a thing.

Thanks for the display suggestions guys. I had considered buying a smaller TV just for playing my Xbox on, but it would pretty much leave me broke. As BBM pointed out I did just spend the majority of my funds on a MacBook Pro, and I should really be keeping what I have left for one of those situations that will arise where I need to buy something important.

The other downside to my bringing my Xbox up is the amount that I will end up spending on it. I'll end up buying L4D2, Halo ODST, MW2 and a new controller, because mine has pretty much had it.

The display isn't so much the problem, because I could just take the TV from my room at home up with me, but then like I said I wouldn't be able to watch TV in my room when I get home.

I still have my 17" Windows laptop at uni, but I was unsure if it is possible to use a laptop for displaying an Xbox. So you're telling me the best way to do this would be to get some kind of capture card?

I would buy it. The driving in between the different races is annoying, but it's never a long trip. You can get across the whole city in.... 10 minutes I would say, in a fairly average car. It's kinda like Test Drive Unlimited, except you get a much more reasonably sized play area.

If you can't get the update for the game, that will sort of kill the fun.... possibly. Without the update, there is no way to restart a race (stupid, but whatever). The update is somewhere around 1.9GB, so that could put you off your game.

Ok i mean the "NG Xbox 360 club" not NG Xbox team.

For those of you who are getting Borderlands, I envy you. This was a bad time to have to send in my 360 for repairs but hopefully by the time it gets back people will still be playing co op mode on it, which I've heard is amazing.

Maybe I haven't looked into this game enough, but I just can't see that all the fuss is about. The gameplay doesn't seem to be all that special when compared to most FPS games and the graphics just look horrible. I mean normally graphics won't affect my decision when it comes to buying a game, but that style of art that they decided to use in this game just seems wrong to me.

I really do hope I am missing something here. I would love to eventually see what everyone else is finding so amazing about this game, but right now I'm just not getting it.

The main games that I'm waiting to be released are Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead 2 and Mafia 2.

Mafia 2 is something I've been waiting to be released for years and I can't wait to get my hands on a copy. Back in the day of the original, it was probably my favourite game, and this was the console version which wasn't as good as the PC version.

I also can't wait for an Elder Scrolls V to released. Granted, there will be quite a wait before we see it released, but even some information on this game will have me excited. Bethesda never fail to please me. Their games are just awesome.

Although considering we have a little family of active users, I think it does have a nice ring to it.

Halo Waypoint - November 5th
It's a destination for all your Halo news, interview, sneaks, peaks, etc. It does some interesting things with your achievements but other than that I probably wont touch it that much. It's not a game so don't be confused and think yet another Halo game

I just finished Brutal Legend's campaign. I have only one complaint. The final boos, like in gears 2, looks like something that will take forever to defeat and seems utterly impossible. I loved the look of it, and the actual fight wasn't bad, but it wasn't a challenge at all. I know it was the easiest difficulty, but other parts of the game - the previous battle for instance - were much harder.

I'm amazed that although you basically did the same moves over and over during combat, it never got boring during stage battles. Multiplayer is fun, but after you complete the story there's little to do left in the map.

I give this game an 8.75/10 and I recommend this to anyone who loves metal.

Borderlands got an 8.8 on IGN. Fuck yes.
