Mmmm, Canas is back

Will you be getting MW2 with Jeff and myself? Good times ahead.

GOOD TIMES A PLENTY OL CHUMBUM

Seeing as how I am the best of all time at COD and even better than Beyonce music videos, It is mandatory that I join in the fun of it. ALTHOUGH, I moved out of the city, and my internet is so terrible I can't even support PokerStars right now. So like, i've gotta fix that shit on a super serious level before I can actually play. At all. We shall see

As far as downloading Burnout, urkghghjrl. I can't even download Xbox Live updates my connection freezes so much, plus I have an original Xbox harddrive and that shit would eat up all my space. I'd sooner just purchase Burnout: Paradise assuming it's any good

It's actually pretty fun. I recommend you do get it. It's a lengthy enough game as well, so that could be a good thing if you live in the countryside. Plus, if you looked at the cars in Takedown quite closely, you'll see some of them reappear in Paradise. The cover car from Burnout 2: Point of Impact appears as well.

Paradise is a good game to start with, but you need to put a lot of time in should you want the achievements / cars available to you.

Friggen sweet. I'll buy that shit next time I'm in town for sure then. I already assumed that it was an improvement over Burnout: Takedown, and if that game could eat up all my time and attention being four years old I can only imagine the entertainment value of a newer version.

We'll see if I master it as easily.

Just picked up my copy of Brutal Legend today and it is worth buying. I'm only a few hours into the story mode, but I love this game so far. Jack Black hits Eddie's character perfectly. I have yet to try multiplayer, but this is a great game.

Team 'NG Kicks Everyone's Ass' reassembling will be a grand moment. They'll have 11 kill streaks this time around Canas. Something new to shoot for so see about getting that internet fixed.

Paradise wasn't as fun as Takedown. Part of the reason was because for every race you had to drive around the city to the starting point. If you like that then go ahead, but I'd say rent before buying if you can.

Alright, I have a question for all'yall.

I was over at a friends and I decided to recover my gamertag onto his console, so that I could play as myself. My question is, will this have removed my gamertag from my console back home, or have altered it in any way, shape or form?

I'll also have to try and ask him to delete my account from his console at some point as well. I mean he could do anything to it when I'm not there.

Just recover it back to your console and you will be fine.

The account will be stored on your 360 as well, but you won't be able to play on it. It'll come up with a message saying something. I don't remember what though. When you're at home, recover the account again, and you have control over it. I would delete it off his 360 if you live quite far away though. If your account is pretty big, it might take a while to redownload it as well.

Aye well I just got back home and went on my Xbox. It wouldn't ;et me log onto my profile unless I recovered it. I now have it recovered and this will mean that my account is no longer on the other Xbox, so all is well.

I'm considering taking my Xbox up to uni with me, but it will be irritating having to carry a TV with me as well. Then the only downside to that is I won't be able to watch TV in my room when I come home at the weekend. There's no way that I'll be paying for a TV licence for my room at uni either, so the decision now is TV and Xbox at the weekends or only Xbox during weekdays.

I don't know what to do.

Are you bringing a laptop or PC up to university with you? You might be able to use the monitor to display your games. I'm not sure how you'd go about this, although I think you need the VGA Cable and a VGA In port on your machine.

I'm not sure how to set it up, but I know it can be done. I'm assuming you know what a VGA In port is, seeing as you've got a link to the Computer Construction Club in your sig.

I happen to know he's just invested in a mac so he's a little fucked. They don't like much.

But yeah, I for example have my desktop and my 360 up at uni, both with cables going into the same monitor.

You might still be able to use a Mac for the job. It involves buying a capture card, composite cables, and the rest of the stuff you need to do it. There's a capture card that is made for Mac OS X, called the 'EyeTV'. No idea how much they cost, but whatever. Basically, instead of recording footage from your games, you can simply sit down at the monitor. I believe you need to have a TV set up with it to work, but the TV does not have to be on. I know that's pretty pointless now, but it can be done.

Maybe your Mac has a VGA In port on it as it is? If you're lucky, you might not to do a thing.

Thanks for the display suggestions guys. I had considered buying a smaller TV just for playing my Xbox on, but it would pretty much leave me broke. As BBM pointed out I did just spend the majority of my funds on a MacBook Pro, and I should really be keeping what I have left for one of those situations that will arise where I need to buy something important.

The other downside to my bringing my Xbox up is the amount that I will end up spending on it. I'll end up buying L4D2, Halo ODST, MW2 and a new controller, because mine has pretty much had it.

The display isn't so much the problem, because I could just take the TV from my room at home up with me, but then like I said I wouldn't be able to watch TV in my room when I get home.

I still have my 17" Windows laptop at uni, but I was unsure if it is possible to use a laptop for displaying an Xbox. So you're telling me the best way to do this would be to get some kind of capture card?

I would buy it. The driving in between the different races is annoying, but it's never a long trip. You can get across the whole city in.... 10 minutes I would say, in a fairly average car. It's kinda like Test Drive Unlimited, except you get a much more reasonably sized play area.

If you can't get the update for the game, that will sort of kill the fun.... possibly. Without the update, there is no way to restart a race (stupid, but whatever). The update is somewhere around 1.9GB, so that could put you off your game.
