So I tell my parents that I'm getting high speed internet at their house for three months (which would allow me to play XBL) and what do they do? They freak out. Hey Guys what do you do if your controller doesn't work?

I have the recharger and my controller which is wireless is all "ok" from the outside but I can't turn it on anymore , I had since 06 and I barely used my 360 for the past 4 months.

Do you have any suggestions before I go see someone? Cause With or without a controller I'm still buying GTA4

With GTA IV coming ever closer I feel the days becoming slower... Damn you relativity! Anyways, I got an e-mail from HMV yesterday saying that GTA was dispatched in the post, and that it was coming via Royal Mail(first class mail delivery in the UK) Which is good :3 and that they estimated that it would arrive within 2-5 days. They also stated in the e-mail that they did this to make sure that I alongside the others that pre-ordered were amongst the first to get it, and there is no effective way of doing that unless you get it at least a day earlier, perhaps even more to be 100%. You could argue that the chances are still just as slim in spite of the statement, but Take-Two did say that they were allowing the game to arrive early for pre-orders, but I only heard that on a forum.

But, still if it was dispatched yesterday than it should come tomorrow at the earliest, and on release day at the latest, and Royal Mail wasn't considered first class for no reason, so I doubt that I will get it any later than Monday, but I wouldn't be extremely surprised if it was brought to me on release day, I'd be so pissed off if I got it late >:(

So fingers crossed, here's hoping that I get GTA IV earlier than YOU BUNCH OF FAGGOTS.

I decided to run a tournament for the 360. I made a post in the VG forum about it and I'm just using this place to advertise it. Come participate! We're hoping to have enough people be able to play sometime in the coming week.

This would get rid of or cut short the loooooong loading screen that comes up every time you start the game, along with generally keepings things from doing the usual GTA mess ups (remember when you'd be flying in SA, and the ground below and in front of you would just be a huge patch of brown/green/etc?).
Or there may be no install at all, which takes away any point in doing anything but picking up the first copy I see at Gamestop when it comes to deciding which console to get it for.

Actually, when I heard that there was gonna be multiplayer I actually said that it'd ruin it and take away from the single player experience. But it doesn't seem to have. Only real dissapointments are that the single player is a meager 30 hours (compared to previous GTA games) and planes are gone but that might have something to do with 9/11.

It doesn't work for all games. Some games like Gears only work online because the gameplay was immensely fun to begin with. Too bad they couldn't have had levels that tons of open space with cover scattered about, like an old-West type duel in a street(only from behind cover) or something.

A lot of people are saying how they are not looking forward to GTA's multiplayer aspects. Well, personally, the idea of a cop vs. crook shootout in a full Liberty City with 15 other friends in the LOBBY seams quite appealing. Its basically going to NY for a day with a few friends and being able to do whatever youwant, if ou get caught by the cops, you just re-spawn outside a police department, and if you get shot then you just re-spawn outside the nearest hospital.

Also, if you haven't already read it, then IGN reviewed GTA, and there is a link to the first video review of GTA there so check it out :3

It got a perfect 10/10 on all factors, and the reviewer said it was the best game he had played in 10 years and I'd say he has played a fair share of games in his life. And its a near deffo that I get it on Monday, if not I will not be a happy camper >:( No. Sir.

No, MS will do absolute fuck all. Otherwise, I'd feel fairly sorry for all those reviewers. It was the same with Halo 3. But I agree, a ONE DAY wait isn't bad.

Meh, I like games and I am a very impatient person. BEsides, I have been waiting so long it has gotten to the point where I am trying to fall asleep in hopes of it coming faster, 1 hour = 6 hours. I know its a bit OTT, but I get like that ._.

Still, some good ol' CoD always passes the time best. With a bit of Halo Forge on the side and I am sure the weekend will come to its own end soon, hell, this is one of those occasions where I am actually looking forward to a Monday :P Still, I will admit I need to calm down, I am probably just typing all this to make the time pass, oh well. Its just I haven't ever seen a game that has 10% on everything by most reviewers, sure there was that Zelda thing but I don't remember that. Man.. Well, if you look at Gall of Duty 4 and see what Infinity Ward did with that, then you'll see that they realized that the WWII were getting repetitive and dry, so they did something about it and changed the game completely, now Look at Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. It is the best multiplayer thing that has happened since the invention of online toilet paper... oh wait, its not 2012?

But more to the point; Rockstar have done the exact same with Grand Theft Auto IV, they have revamped the notoriously shitty aiming system, they have upped the ante on the story line and have made an overhaul in the graphics and realism, I think that is enough difference to suggest that this will be a bit different from III, VC and SA.

After watching more than an hour of watching someone playing the game it just seems unreal. It looks unbelievably fun and realistic. I cannot believe Rockstar have been able to make such a monster of the game. Everything seen in the IGN video review is true, this game looks amazing, it incomprehensible to explain all the "revamps".

Of all the people who have a stigma against this game and are basing this on their experiences with past GTAs really need to see it for themselves.

GTA is not getting old, it is a new step, a big one at that. Grand theft auto has taken a giant leap, leaving behind the storyline, environment, physics, Afro-American/Italian-American mafios, aiming system, choppy graphics, bad AI, etc,etc.

Get this motherfuckin' game. 4 hours from when I posted this you better have it in your hands >:U

Argh, it didn't arrive >:(. Oh well, only a days wait, I guess I'll wait it out on CoD, discussing how brilliant it is gonna be. But I really do hope that you don't go out at midnight to get it. Its pointless IMO, and there are bandits about! But in the hopefully rare event that includes me not getting it ON RELEASE LIKE THEY SAID. I will vow, to never, ever pre-order anything via the web again. Till these future events, i am gonna indulge in some GTA gameplay vids to hype me up.

This could be partly due to the fact that it's a fucking hype machine, and that hype machines as a rule are terrible.

Where does this rule originate from? The 360 itself was hyped to the max before it was out. Does that make it a crap system by default because of the anticipation it got?
