My Friend has a song that he recorded over a Daft Punk Song, its basically just him and brother Talking and stuff (hilariously) over the song, would it be legal to submit it to the audio portal??

Well, I would imagine not because Daft Punk recorded what you're are talking over. It's not your absolute work.....But who would know? Mwahahahahahaha

Myspace | Audio | Alter | It sounds like a fire hydrant went off in an old folks home with screaming babies field recorded, glitched, and spontaneously played back

I would. Since it isn't the topic starter's original work, it would result in an Audio ban. So don't submit it.
The Audio Portal is for people to submit stuff that Flash Authors can use in ther projects. It's not there for comedy sketches, particularly if they're spoken over a copyrighted song.

I've always wondered something...

I make remixes and mixes of stuff - and that seems to be ok - but if i were to get someone to sing the exact same vocals and stick that in as well, would "I" get banned?

'cuz ive done it once before and nothing seemed to come of it..

There were a couple of Pink Floyd "remixes" where the author just added some synth to already existing recorded floyd songs.

No its not legal - sorry man.

what floyd said was the guy made remixes of his own stuff just by adding synths to them - since they were his own songs who cares lol.

The only way i could see you justifying what you are proposing is basically if you did the reverse - somehow just got voals from one of their songs and gave it a totally different background instruments etc.

thats all.

But no you cant just put someone singing over a whole song someone else made thats just wrong.

#2 Loops you made from existing copyrighted songs are not your own original work.

its a very fine line to tread- and unless given permission from said musician - you in no instances - can ever profit from it without lawsuits COMING YOUR WAY!

and if your gonna try and get away with it - making one as your first song is incredibly stupid :P
