Audio compression

ok i have a song (wav) and need it compressed. is there a free programe i can try to compress this to post it in the audio protal thx

I know a cool trick that can be used if you are using a track-based recording program.

Set a new track as an audio recording, and just record your song onto that one track, then delete the other tracks.

I did that with my new song, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, and it went from a size of 7,000+kb to 900 or so kb.

You can download I-tunes for free from <A>http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
It allows u to convert wav files into mp3's or various other formats.
That's what i use to convert all my stuff.
